Good day players!!
With the relaunch of Thunkgaria we are coming up on 120 players. and a few of the new players are asking.
How come my Sword is speed 141 and my speed is only 17. Speed is actually a percent multiplier of your base speed.
Let's take a look at Thunk in the following image:
With no weapon equipped. (the picture of the Ax is just the empty space image) Thunk has a speed of 17.
Now lets give him a weapon.
Thunk now is using a Scythe with a speed of 138. This gives him 138% of his base speed. Which comes out to a speed of 23.
Next let us look at a slower weapon.
Thunk is playing on a guitar in the Tavern and a fight breaks out. The thunk has a speed of 77. So we take his base speed of 17 and multiply by 77%. Thunk now has a speed of 13.
He needs to make every attack count.
Now how does speed affect combat? Let's look at a normal battle.
You can see the Hero's all attack 1st and then the monsters attack. This is the best situation for your party while exploring dungeons.
In a normal battle everyone will attack once and then the combat round starts again. However if a monster or a Hero has a speed much higher than the other combatants you might get 2 attacks in before anyone else can go.
Let's take a look.
The purple mushrooms attack twice in a row before the Hero's can respond. Luckily they miss on one of the attacks. Let's look and see what the speed of the mushrooms is.
45!!! They have a speed of 45. Luckily they are not very strong.
I hope this helps you understand how speed works in Thunkgaria.
