Methinks that rather than being the inspiration to one's own greatness that it could be, telling people the GOE feeds the homeless reminds many that they do not, or bare minimum reminds them how fucked this world is. Then comes the soul crushing guilt baggage, and it's "easier" to look away than address it...

Vs. everyone can relate to a picture of delicious, beautiful food without the discomfort of questioning one's own existence.

Primitive fiendy animal brains seem to control more humans than moral/value centers.

Great comment and insight @saramiller. Likely more true than most want to admit.

So far, most social media is 'visually' driven. A concept is not visual.
Don't read too much into it. I believe you are looking to derive a deep meaning from a shallow environment.
Food and people attract eyes. Concepts don't. It may not be right... but it's the way people work.
If asked what is more important, even the ones that voted visually would say the homeless.
Don't lose faith. (I have added you to my vote list based on your past posts and this observation. Please carry on. You are valued by more than who votes on you here.)

Very true words here! It is a shallow environment for many, though not everyone. It depends on the circles I guess. Thanks for giving such a great comment!

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Like any creative work, we never know what will work and not. I think the concept of food photography is a social media mainstay, so it attracts likes.

It sucks when this happens dude, believe me. Posts that don't really need to make a lot do and ones that are meaningful or have a lot of effort get almost no engagement. I can't figure it out sometimes!

Then the lack of comments is really unfortunate a lot of times as well.

I think most people do not even read, they just like the photos. That and the fact that we are sure living in a screwd up world...
