The Star of the Family

Helping out is a privilege, never ever take it for granted. That was the advice my aunt gave to me when I felt overwhelmed with some personal family challenges about a year ago.

In every family, there are always some who assumed a greater burden of responsibility than others. These set of people may find themselves so poised as a result of their financial status, position, circumstances or commitment to their various family units.

I have seen single individuals raise the status of their entire household as a result of their success. Prime examples are sportsmen like Rafael Nadal and Cristiano Ronaldo, whose parents and siblings have benefitted greatly from their success.

Being the star of the family does not always mean being the most successful, it rather means the one who's willing to assume a healthy burden of responsibility to keep the family bonds tight and each individual member relatively well off. Taking it for granted is akin to self harm that does not cause immediate pain.

In my family fortunately there are a few stars, and I can proudly say am one of them. Cooperation and a willingness to work together strengthens that familiar bond, giving ever reliable allies to walk through life with.

Maybe we all have a role to play in life
I read somewhere that there is the giver and there is the receiver and they both play a part no more or less than the other....
Still, it does take a big heart and empathy to share :D
