Yesterday was the first day of our province under Modified General Community Quarantine (or MGCQ). As I observed from people, they are getting back to normalcy as there are a huge volume of vehicles passing by, when during the last three months, roads are in silence as people stay at their homes. Still, the guidelines state that we're still under quarantine, so there should still be limits with regards to outdoor activities. I am thinking of going out for a jog though, as it was already allowed.

Meanwhile, people are already selling foods in our village. They are not wearing their masks though. I can also hear some people clapping and shouting, some of them are youngsters, at the doves flying which is a form of gambling. These activities shouldn't still be allowed.

Coronavirus cases

After the number of cases exceeded 8 million yesterday, it continues to go up as the current tally is now at 8.145 million. It shows more than 100k of increase. Fatalities went up to 440k, while recoveries also went up to 3.939 million, which the latter is a good sign. United States remained with at an increase level, which the current stat is 2.177 million. There has been 118k deaths, and 679k recoveries. It means more than a million are still confined. Brazil is now heading to a million with current number at 928k.

So far, a good development was seen in the Philippines with some drop of daily new cases. The current number of cases in total is 26,781. Fatalities went up with total of 1,103, while 6,552 has already recovered. One case has recovered in our province, while there's a new case, with total of confined cases at 17.

Thousands under monitoring

At this moment, there are more than 8,000 under 14 days quarantine. They're at the classification of Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs. They might have visited places where there are high risks. There we cannot say we are still safe. There are currently 12 confined Persons Under Investigation or being observed as they show symptoms. Hopefully, people from their household may be provided of what they need so there's no need to go out of their homes.
