Samhain (Halloween) is upon us, and with it comes a powerful energy portal. This is a time to connect with the other side, and to receive messages and guidance from our ancestors and spirit guides. It is also a time to release what no longer serves us, and to open ourselves up to new possibilities.
As we approach this sacred time, we can use the following practices to help us connect with the energies of Samhain and make the most of this powerful portal:
Set your intention. What do you hope to achieve by working with the energies of Samhain? Whether it's guidance from your ancestors, release of old patterns and beliefs, or opening yourself up to new possibilities, setting your intention will help you focus your energies and achieve your goals.
Create an ancestor altar. This is a space where you can connect with the energy of your ancestors. It can be as simple or elaborate as you like, but should include items that represent your ancestors and that have personal meaning to you.
Connect with nature. Spend time outdoors in nature, and take the time to really notice the changes that are happening around you as autumn gives way to winter. This is a time of transition, and by connecting with nature we can attune ourselves to these energies.
Perform a release ritual. Samhain is a time to let go of what no longer serves us. This can be anything from old patterns and beliefs that are holding you back, to material possessions that you no longer need. Letting go will make space for new energy to enter your life.
Be open to receive. As you release what no longer serves you, make sure to leave yourself open to receive new energy and guidance. This can come in the form of intuitive insights, dreams, or synchronicities. Pay attention to the signs that are around you, and be open to receiving whatever message they have for you.
By working with the energies of Samhain, we can open ourselves up to new possibilities, receive guidance and insight from the other side, and let go of what no longer serves us.
