Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Genesis 18:6-8
Today we read about Abraham's hospitality. He was entertaining angels (unaware) as happens to us sometimes, according to other scriptures. I am pretty sure that he was not unaware of whom he was receiving.
Last week we read that he was visited by YHVH and then he lifted his eyes to see three men far off.
Today we see him breaking from initial greetings, running to have food prepared for them. Abraham asked Sarah to make bread while he ran to choose a lamb, ordered it to be prepared.
He brought milk, cheese, and meat for them to eat under a tree. We will have to wait to see where this goes as we progress in the chapter next week.
Lots of new vocabulary to learn, food, animals, kneading, milk and curds. I hope you are able to see and learn the word order, English vs. Hebrew It may seem backwards, but learning the order of Hebrew thought will help you think in Hebrew.

It was definitely a beautiful read as well. I remembered the chapter and verse where Abraham was good to the angels and gave them meat and shelter as well. Thanks for bringing this once again.
I guess the word YHVH is Hebrew right?
That is the name of God. In Spanish bibles it is 'Jehova' and in English bibles the name is completely replaced with 'Lord'.
