Genesis 19:4-8
Two men came to see Sodom and ate with Lot and his daughters. While they were there, every last person in the city gathered around Lot's house. Our text says that every man, woman, of the city with all the young and old were outside.
It also says that they wanted those men to come out so they could know them. Lot begs them to leave these men alone and offers his two daughters who had "never known a man" but the people wanted the two strangers.
Lot was outside trying to reason with them, telling them that the men were under the protection of his roof....
The story continues next week as we read on.
