Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.

Genesis 21:15-18

^{Angel appears to Hagar source}

Abraham had sent Hagar and her son away last week. Now we see that she is out of water and ready to die.

She sits far away while her son lay too weak to continue. The boy was praying, and we know that because the text says that God heard his voice.

Then an angel (malach) of God called out to Hagar from heaven. He told her not to be afraid, that God had heard her son's voice, so get up, pick up your child, hold him tight, because I will make him a great nation.

The story continues next week as water springs appear...
