Day 2, Nallo to Sälka.
The hike I did in September continue. You can see the first leg of the hike in this post:
5 days in Swedish mountains. Part 1. On the second day we left the Nallo valley. The trail go through a higher valley over to a valley called Sälka. The leg is around 12 km to the cabin where we stayed overnight. This day we had less rain and wind so we had a more pleasant hike.
On our way up from the Nallo cabin. We are heading to the left against Sälka.
We followed the river up to the higher valley over to Sälka valley.
Under the mountain in the far end of the valley was our starting point yesterday.
A little moment where we could see the blue sky.
As we got higher there where less vegetation and more stone.
The river we followed...
... start at this lake.
We passed this valley and went down to Sälka in the far end of the picture.
Two other people in front of us. The give a perspective to the surroundings. I liked the crop of this picture where the hikers become more clear.
At he outlet of the lake I saw some remains of an animal by the river. Probably bones from a reindeer.
The water in this lake is mostly from glaciers above the valley. When the sky is clear the lake have a green colour. The reason for this is small particles of clay and sand carried withe the water.
Everywhere there where small rivers and streams which gathered at the bottom of the valley. Some flowed under and between the rocks.
During the day low clouds, fog and rain passed by and covered the mountains.
On the other side of the watershed this river goes down to Salka valley. From here the trail mostly goes downhill to the cabins.
On the edges we got the view to Sälka valley ..
... when little zoomed in you can se the cabins. It was nice to dry clothes and make a hot dinner after great day outdoors. The next day we followed the trail south (to the left) around 15 km to A place called Singi.
After a good meal, coffee with little whisky I lay in my bed and watched the reindeer until I fell asleep.
My I see some reindeers tomorrow to?
(It was quite dark when I took these pictures of the reindeer through the window. With ISO 12800, 1/100 sec and aperture f/4,0 the result was quite good)
Next part of this hike will show up suddenly :-).
Have a great day.
Best regards Harald.

Wow! The scenery looks very stark! No trees! Just like hiking on Mars!

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
Crazy haiku!
Thank you @kaminchan. It is around 6-700 meters above sea and not much trees at this altitude here north.

Beautiful untouched nature, I believe thank to rough weather we do not see much of human impact. That pictures reminded my Highlands. Spectacular views and I bet those places are favorite scenes for Artists :)
There are not much human activity in the are. It is around 3 days walk to nearest road. It is a beautiful area.
