The mountain Niingen 31.05.19

Niingen.jpg
Niingen is easily visible when driving past Bogen some mile outside Narvik. The summit is described to be a nice hike during the summertime, The summit lies at 1073 meters above sea level, and offers a nice views of the fjords and the mountains around Narvik.

In many years we have driven past this mountain by car, and every time I have wanted to take a walk on the mountain. So friday 31.05. we had free from work and for some reason we choosed to explore this mountain for the first time. The trail follow a pipeline to a hydropower plants up to around 500 meters. You can see the route and the pipeline on the first picture. Where the pipeline starts on 500 meters the route further follow the snowfield and the edge of the mountain up to the highest point.

Niingen-3.jpg

The first part of the hike to the foot of the mountain and the pipeline go through old forest.

Niingen-16.jpg
The trail got steeper pretty quick up in the woods.

Niingen-4.jpg
When we reached the pipeline we followed it up to 500 meters.

Niingen-17.jpg
Some place the terrain is very steep and stairs was made in the mountain to make i possible to work at the pipeline and safely walk up an down.

Niingen-18.jpg
During the construction work, January 21, 1952, a large avalanches destroyed the construction huts 500 meters up the hillside. In this accident died 5 workers.

Niingen-15.jpg
Nero managed the steep terrain an stairs well, here i admires his great work.

Niingen-5.jpg
On the upper part of the pipeline we walked on snow to the platou above the pipeline.

Niingen-7.jpg
Here are several nice spots for camping in tent with a nice view when going to bed, or in the morning when the sun rise with a hot cup of coffee in the sleeping bag. I have to do it...yesss,,,or...maybe???

Niingen-8.jpg

Niingen-10.jpg
From the platou the view is quite nice towards the fjord and mountains.

Niingen-12.jpg
It was more snow up in the hight than we could see from the starting point. The route you saw in the first picture above the pipeline have some pretty steep parts where you have to use both arms and foots to come past. Nero would also probably have big troubles to manage so we decided to not go further up. Later in the summer it will be easier to go this route. So we stopped and found a place with shelter from the wind, eat some food before we went down the same route.

Nero looks back on a well-managed adventure in the mountains :-)

A little rest before the last leg to the car.

Best regards

It is obvious, that snow slowly giving its place to greens, nice views from the height. To build this pipeline probably took a lot of time. Nero, as always really enjoys his hiking :)

By the way Harald, recently a new token PALcoin was introduced by @minnowsupport. Within short time it became very popular the price now is half of Steem. Everyone who has Steemit account can claim his PALcoin, logging in with posting key also you can trade with PAL as with Steem too. When you post using #palnet tag, your post will get Palcoin and Steem in its payout. I have done it.
Here is very explanatory post, may be of your interest :)

Thank you very much for the tips. Do you post both in palnet and on steemit or just use the tag #palnet and that's it? Will the traditional payout in steem be divided, one part in steem and one in pal? or will pal come in addition, if you understand ....?

You post simply in Steemit just using palnet tag, that is enough and when the people who also activated their palnet accounts vote you, you will have your normal payouts in Steemit as before but the same time you will earn PALcoin. You want you can sale PALcoin any time the price now doubled and reached a half of Steem. So probably better to keep it for sometime, just in case if it will grow and get stronger :)

Here is your account in PALnet, but not active

Ok. Done a little research, and logged in and got some pal 999. Tried a pal vote on your last answer but it became a steemvote and not pal 😊. When I am in my pal account I will vote in pal, and steem when logged on steemit? Is it possible for you to see if my account is active? If so is it activated now?

You account is active because you picked up the tokens. The system can't show payout in cents but only in the round numbers. It is not necessary to post in via PAL, if you post via Steemit and use #palnet as a tag it will appear in Palnet already. Another thing your payout depends on people who upvote you, those people should have Palpower, like for example your and my accounts. If someone is upvoting you and have no Palpower then it will not be reflected in the payout. Therefore as many people will collect their tokens the better.

Thank you very much for the explanation 😊

Wow! This is a very nice day hiking! The weather is fine and you can see far away. Amazing surrounding full of mountains and jagged scenery! Your Nero is really fit and strong! I guess having four legs makes it easier for climbing rocks and mountains!

Fantastic view at the top! That pipeline! Is it for gas or petrol! Where does it go?!

Have a nice day!
Cheers.

P. S. Should try camping up there one day!

Thank. I have only two legs to go tired in. Nero have four, so maybe he manages better. 😂 the pipeline goes to a turbine making electricity.

Great job and congrats with your first ascend by feet! :) I enjoyed it with you, it is indeed an amazing place with fantastic views!
I never spent a night in mountains, I mean in a tent. I have a very light sleep... but it is my dream - to see stars in the night sky when they are especially close, and the morning coffee overlooking the landscape just as you wrote ))

Thank you for a great mood of your post! Have a most wonderful day!

Lovely :) Cheers :)

Oh, you must go back and camp! I want to see pictures of the sunrise over that spectacular view! It's really breathtaking. I love the shot of Nero admiring the view. He is such an adventurous dog!

Maybe I do it during the summer 🌞
