Making Delicious Kabuli Pulao with My Mom

Hello friends how are you all I hope you all are fine I am also fine. So yesterday I made Kabuli Pulao with my mom. This is an Afghani dish which is also eaten in Pakistan. And my mom watched its recipe the day before yesterday so my mom told me yesterday let’s make Kabuli Pulao I have seen the recipe. Then I helped my mom in making Kabuli Pulao because I like Kabuli Pulao very much. Usually I like Kabuli Pulao in mutton but this time we made it with beef next time when we will make it with mutton then I will also share its recipe with you all. So yesterday my sister also came to our home that is why we had to make something special so we made Kabuli Pulao. So let’s start making it.

Ingredients

Rice 2 kg
Beef 2 kg
Carrots 1 kg
Raisins 0.5 kg
Onion 5 pieces
Garlic 4 pieces
Oil
Cumin
Salt
Garam masala
Sugar
Cinnamon
Garam masala

So to make Kabuli Pulao these things will be needed.

Cutting the vegetables and meet

So first I cut all the vegetables which were going to be used in it and I washed the raisins well. First I cut the carrots into small pieces. Then I also cut the onions. Then I also cut the 4 garlic pieces. Do not cut the garlic into small pieces just cut them into 2 pieces from the center. And also wash and cut the meet.

Soak the rice

Along with this I soaked the 2 kg rice in water so it becomes a little soft. And soak it for almost 2 hours.

Caramelizing

Now I caramelized the carrots and raisins so to caramelize them I added some oil in a pot then I added the carrots then I added 1 spoon sugar on top of it do not caramelize it too much. So when the carrots start to become soft then take them out in a bowl. Soft means that they should be a little crunchy but a little soft from outside. Then caramelize the raisins in the same way with 1 spoon sugar. But let the raisins become fully soft and cook the raisins until they puff up.

Kabuli pulao soup

Now let’s make the main thing of Kabuli Pulao which is its soup. So to make it first I added some oil in the pressure cooker then we added the 5 cut onions now before these turn brown add the beef. Then add 3 tea spoon salt on top of it. Then add 2 tea spoon cumin now cook it well. Cook it until the onion melts well in the beef. Then add 8 cups water and close the lid of the pressure cooker.

Adding the rice

Now after almost 40 mins open the pressure cooker. But remember pressure cooker is very dangerous so use it carefully. The pressure cooker work was done by my mom because I don’t know how to use it. So after opening the pressure cooker take out the beef from the soup and put it in a bowl. And transfer the soup into another pot. Now add a little more salt in the soup and add the 4 garlic pieces which were cut half and add 1 tea spoon garam masala and also add cinnamon. And take out the soaked rice from water and add it into the soup.

Cook in low flame

Now when the rice absorbs all the soup well and the rice becomes soft then add the caramelized carrots and raisins. Then add the beef also and close the lid of the pot. Then cook it on low flame for 40 mins or 1 hour. Now after 40 mins our delicious Kabuli Pulao is ready.

Final result

Now my mom served it to the whole family and everyone liked it a lot everyone was eating it with enjoyment and when I ate it then omg it was very tasty I enjoyed it very much.
