The Blue Moon Butterfly (Hypolimnas Bolina)

The blue moon (Hypolimnas bolina) is a beautiful common name, it refers to the white blue striped pattern found on the back wings of the butterfly. It is a butterfly belonging to the Nymphalidae family. It loves Zinnia flower nectar as well as several other plants that produce fresh nectar. In my parents' front yard there were lots of white zinnia flowers, all the time various species of butterflies perched there sucking the nectar of the flowers.
