Camptogramma bilineata (Linnaeus, 1758)

The yellow shell moth is a day-active moth from the family (Geometridae). The moth flies in many meadows and does not have any special requirements on its habitat. It sucks on many different flowers. The caterpillars overwinter and pupate in spring. The moth flies in two generations from May to September and is not considered endangered in its existence.

The butterfly is not easy to photograph during the day. If you get closer, it will be discovered immediately. I was lucky with the weather. Sun and clouds alternated and it was not very warm. So the butterfly was not quite as jumpy and after it had flown up three times, a cloud and I finally got to these two pictures. These are exceptionally photographed without a tripod.

Beautiful butterfly with its wings like a yellow paper graph with earthquake reader scale art!

Another funny comparison of you.

Thank you very much 😁

If you want to try in the morning to take pictures of butterflies when the flowers are in bloom. maybe it's very easy to get the picture. because he was busy collecting the existing (nectar) liquid in the flower. maybe those of us who want to take pictures will be ignored by these butterflies and so are other insects. good luck.

This approach will certainly be successful for many species. With this moth this is hardly possible. He flies up when you approach him. On cloudy days you can be lucky and approach very slowly. This is not always successful but often you are lucky.

Thanks for your message!

Fascinating, that tan color looks beautiful. I found it curious the "beak" that protrudes from the mouth of the insect shows the exact perfection of photography, for such a small insect, every detail including the eyes, is truly amazing. Congratulations, I really like your work.

To show the small things in a big way is exactly my world. So I can amaze the viewer and inspire him for the world of insects.

Thanks a lot 😁

Super tolle Bilder,
Wie immer,tolle Aufnahmen 👍😉
