Am Wochenende stehe ich meistens vor der Entscheidung, ob ich die Nacht vor meiner Beobachtungslampe verbringe oder nach Tagfalter fotografieren möchte. Dann stehe ich noch vor Sonnenaufgang auf und begebe mich auf die Suche nach den Schmetterlingen. Ziel ist es, diese möglichst vor Sonnenaufgang zu finden. So lange die Sonne nicht auf den Schmetterling scheint, bleibt er sitzen und es ist kein Problem, mit Stativ zu fotografieren. So habe ich die Qual der Wahl, ob ich die Nacht oder den frühen Morgen für meine Motive bevorzuge. Beides zusammen ist einfach nicht möglich, denn ausreichend Schlaf ist die Grundvoraussetzung für gute Bilder.
On weekends I am usually faced with the decision whether to spend the night in front of my observation lamp or to photograph after butterflies. Then I get up before sunrise and start looking for the butterflies. The aim is to find them before sunrise if possible. As long as the sun doesn't shine on the butterfly, it will remain seated and it is no problem to take pictures with a tripod. So I am spoilt for choice, if I prefer the night or the early morning for my motives. Both together is simply not possible, because sufficient sleep is the basic requirement for good pictures.

Früh am Morgen sind die Kontraste in der Wiese noch gering und es ist schwierig, etwas zu entdecken. Die Suche erfordert Erfahrung und ganz besonders viel Geduld. Meine Ausdauer führt in der Regel zum Erfolg. Dieses Foto von der Goldrute (Solidago virgaurea) ist im vorüber gehen entstanden. Die Pflanze bot mit ihrer leuchtend gelben Farbe einen tollen Kontrast am frühen Morgen.
Early in the morning the contrasts in the meadow are still low and it is difficult to discover anything. The search requires experience and especially a lot of patience. My endurance usually leads to success. This photo of goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) was taken in passing. The plant offered a great contrast in the early morning with its bright yellow colour.

Hauhechel-Bläuling ■ The common blue butterfly
Polyommatus icarus (Rottemburg, 1775)
Sofern man die Schlafplätze der Schmetterlinge kennt, ist ein Motiv schnell gefunden. Der Hauhechel-Bläuling ist ein Tagfalter aus der Familie der Bläulinge (Lycaenidae). Der Falter ist weit verbreitet und lebt auf naturnahen und Wiesen, die nicht gedüngt werden. Er bildet je nach Region bis zu drei Generationen und fliegt von April bis Oktober.
If you know the sleeping places of the butterflies, a motif is quickly found. The common blue butterfly is a butterfly of the family Lycaenidae. The butterfly is widespread and lives on natural and unfertilized meadows. Depending on the region it forms up to three generations and flies from April to October.

Das Weibchen legt seine Eier an verschiedenen Klee und Luzerne. Die halb erwachsene Raupe überwintert an der Pflanzenbasis und verpuppt sich im Frühjahr.
The female lays her eggs on various clover and alfalfa. The half adult caterpillar hibernates at the plant base and pupates in spring.

Eine besondere Vorliebe zeigt der Falter für den echten Dost (Origanum vulgare). Dieser ist auch unter dem Namen Oregano bekannt. Bei meiner nachfolgenden Aufnahme hatte ich mein Stativ schon aufgebaut, bevor die Sonne auf den Falter schien. Mit den ersten Sonnenstrahlen öffnet er seine Flügel, um Sonne zu tanken. Genau dieser Moment war es, den ich in meinem Bild festhalten wollte.
The butterfly shows a special preference for the real Dost (Origanum vulgare). When I took the following picture I had already set up my tripod before the sun shone on the butterfly. With the first rays of the sun it opens its wings to get some sun. It was exactly this moment that I wanted to capture in my picture.

Beim Fotografieren vergeht die Zeit wie im Flug. Sobald die Sonne die Wiesen in warmes Morgenlicht taucht, ist das Fotografieren mit Stativ kaum mehr möglich. Die Schmetterlinge werden unruhig und starten zu ihrem ersten Flug in den Tag. Ich bin zufrieden mit meinen Bildern und begebe mich auf den Rückweg. Erst jetzt macht sich etwas Hunger bemerkbar, denn ich hatte noch kein Frühstück, so früh am Morgen.
Time flies when taking pictures. As soon as the sun bathes the meadows in warm morning light, taking pictures with a tripod is hardly possible anymore. The butterflies become restless and start their first flight into the day. I am satisfied with my pictures and start on my way back. Only now a little hunger becomes noticeable, because I haven't had breakfast yet, so early in the morning.

Die Äpfel am nahen Apfelbaum laden mich ein. Sie leuchten in der Sonne und so, wie sie ausschauen, schmecken sie auch. Sie sind zuckersüß und erfrischend. Genau das Richtige nach einer ausgiebigen Fototour.
The apples at the nearby apple tree invite me. They shine in the sun and they taste the way they look. They are sugar sweet and refreshing. Just the right thing after an extensive photo tour.

Der Nebel steigt mit der Sonne schnell nach oben und diese lässt die Temperaturen schnell ansteigen. Vier Stunden sollten heute reichen. Mein Ausflug in den Südspessart war wieder ein voller Erfolg und das frühe Aufstehen hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt.
The fog rises quickly with the sun and this makes the temperatures rise rapidly. Four hours should be enough today. My trip to the southern Spessart was again a complete success and the early rising was worth it in any case.

Early morning outdoors is extra special, never used tripod photography much something to consider around the garden great idea!

Wieder wunderschöne Bilder!
Ich mag die Goldrute, auch wenn sie an vielen Stellen ziemlich wuchert. Sie ist die 'Geburtstags-Blume' einer meiner Schwestern: die hat nämlich Mitte August Geburtstag und da blüht die Goldrute :)
Ich mag die Goldrute auch. Allerdings hat es bei mir einen ganz anderen Grund. Auf der Goldrute kann ich meistens den Nierenfleck-Zipfelfalter finden. In diesem Jahr, war meine Suche bisher erfolglos.
Cool - ein Nierenfleckfalter auf einer Pflanze die für Nierentees genutzt wird.
Zufall oder nicht?
Da habe ich jetzt etwas gelernt. Dass die Goldrute für Nierentees verwendet wird, das habe ich noch nicht gewusst. Der Nierenfleck-zipfelfalter, trägt seinen deutschen Namen aufgrund der Nierenfleck ähnlichen Zeichnung auf der Flügel-Oberseite.
Die Goldrute ist harntreibend - deshalb wird sie als Heilpflanze in der antroposophischen Medizin gerne bei Nierensteinpatienten verwendet.

Sie verhindert zwar nicht die Konkrementbildung in den abeiteden Harnwegen - aber sie fördert die Diurese und damit - so die Idee der Anwendung - das Austreiben der Konkremente aus den ableitenden Harnwegen, ehe diese als Kristallisationskerne für ein stetig wachsendes Konkrement zu Komplikationen führen.
Solange die Niere nicht gestaut ist kann überlegt werden mit Hilfe eines Aufguss der Goldrute und muskelrelaxierenden Medikamenten und viel Flüssigkeitszufuhr die Konkremente konservativ aus den Harnwegen zu bugsieren.
Martin Luther soll von Nierensteinen geplagt schon auf die Goldrute gesetzt haben.

Wirkt allerdings harntreibend.

I usually prefer in the morning to photograph insects. Because I found a wider variety of insects. It is even more interesting to find a butterfly that has just emerged from the cocoon. I really salute, all of your pictures look very good.
In Europe it is mostly cool in the morning and the insects feel little desire to fly. This makes it possible to take pictures with a tripod. I really appreciate this decelerated variant of photography.

It's still a bit early for the apple harvest. Occasionally you can find apples that are ripe a little earlier. There I do not let me ask two times 😉

Obwohl ich nicht geade ordsunkundig bin, kann ich den Ort, wo du warst, gerade geistig nicht rekonstruieren. ;-) Ist das Richtung Breitenbrunn irgendwo. Am Groberg z.B.? (an der kl. Straße, die zur Turnhalle von Breitenbrunn führt.)
Nein, das ist der Blick vom Grohberg aus, in Richtung Faulbach!
