Today I walked through the park and saw this beauty. But the dragonfly sat still. I decided to check if she was alive. She moved her blade of grass. Dragonfly was alive but tried not to move and not pay attention to me.

It seemed to me that she was afraid of the cry of a raven.

I was wondering if dragonflies hear any sound. And I started looking for information. Here is what I found.

In most cases, insects have tympanic organs of hearing - stretched elastic fibers to which nerve endings are suitable. Insects the ability to perceive not only the sound vibrations perceived by us, but also any vibrations of the environment. Insects are the only invertebrates for which the ability to distinguish sounds is precisely proven.
