Ayer (30-04-2021) cuando estaba a punto de salir de mi casa, me topé con una Tara, que es una especie de saltamontes con un tamaño mucho más grande. Al verlo decidí acercarme a él para fotografiarlo.
Yesterday (30-04-2021) when I was about to leave my house, I came across a Tara, which is a kind of grasshopper with a much larger size. As I saw it I decided to approach it to photograph it.
Creí que saldría volando, pero no lo hizo. Estaba como recién despierto, muy calmado, Hasta creí que estaba lesionado o herido, pero no vi que le faltaran ninguna de sus extremidades.
I thought he would fly away, but he did not. He was like just awake, very calm, I even thought he was injured or wounded, but I didn't see any of his limbs missing.
No sé por qué, pero es muy frecuente ver a estos insectos sin sus antenas o sin alguna de sus pies o manos. Supongo que en los super saltos que dan, suelen lesionarse.
I don't know why, but it is very common to see these insects without their antennae or without any of their feet or hands. I guess that in their super jumps they usually get injured.
Este no era el caso. El saltamontes estaba sobre una silla de plástico, pegada a la pared. Después de las primeras fotos, noté que podía mover el asiento sin que el insecto se escapara, así que pude realizar mejores imágenes.
This was not the case. The grasshopper was on a plastic chair, against the wall. After the first few photos, I noticed that I could move the seat without the insect escaping, so I was able to take better pictures.
De repente, notó mi presencia, pero en lugar de huir, solo comenzó a rotar sobre su propio eje, como escondiendo su cara ante la cámara, jeje. Fue algo curioso.
Suddenly, he noticed my presence, but instead of running away, he just started rotating on his own axis, pretending to hide his face from the camera, hehe. It was a curious moment.
Como tenía algo de prisa, tomé pocas fotos. El lente macro de mi teléfono es muy exacto. Tiene muy poco margen de enfoque, pero hace un gran trabajo una vez que consigues el punto dulce.
As I was in a bit of a hurry, I took few pictures. The macro lens of my phone is very accurate. It has very little focusing range, but it does a great job once you get the sweet spot.
Lo único malo, o quizás bueno, es que uno debe aproximarme mucho a los elementos, y sé que con ello que habrá insectos a los que no podré tomarles fotos por la cercanía que hay que tener.
The only bad thing, or maybe good thing, is that you have to get very close to the elements, and I know that there will be insects that I won't be able to take pictures of because of the close proximity.
En este caso, funcionó porque la Tara estaba quieta, pero no imagino hacer lo mismo con una abeja, mariposa u otro espécimen.
In this case, it worked because the Tara was quiet, but I can't imagine doing the same with a bee, butterfly or other specimen.
Espero les guste esta serie de 6 fotografías. Pareciera que la tara estaba en un estudio fotográfico con ese piso negro, jeje.
