Such an unusual guest came to our stop place during a trip to the mountains. It seems that it felt completely comfortable on my backpack and did not plan to go anywhere... This is a rather large beetle, about 4 cm long with whiskers.
Traditionally, I tried to determine its species in Google by the picture, but the results were unexpected. In any case, we have before us a representative of the Cerambycidae family, possibly a Prionus coriarius, but then it should have a darker color. And this handsome was completely red (or dark orange)! It is similar to the Prionus californicus, which is found in the West of the USA, but what is it doing in Eastern Europe? The question remains open. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time, we had to move to another place, and the bug stayed "at home".

Ось такий незвичайний гість прийшов до нас на стоянку під час подорожі в гори. Здається він почувався абсолютно комфортно на моєму рюкзаку і не планував нікуди йти... Це досить крупний жук, десь до 4-х см з вусами. Традиційно, я спробувала за картинкою визначити його вид в Гуглі, але результати були несподівані. В будь-якому разі перед нами представник родини Вусачів, можливо Вусач-шкіряник лісовий європейський, але у тоді мали би бути більш темне забарвлення. А цей красень був повністю рудий! Він страшенно схожий на вусача Каліфорнійського, який водиться на Заході США, але от що він тоді робить у Східній Європі? Питання лишається відкритим. На жаль, у нас було мало часу, ми мали переходити в інше місце, а жук лишився "вдома".
