On Tuesday evening this season's Champions league games began. Chelsea were amongst the teams to launch the new campaign and ended up capturing the headlines as they were the only big team to lose to the underdogs. They lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb.

As a Chelsea fan it was a very frustrating game to watch. Even with our star studded 11 we almost never looked threatening. It's almost like they were out of ideas as they kept doing back passes or basic passes that kept getting intercepted. I was pretty much fed up with the club.

As usual after the game there was a lot of talk about the manager Thomas Tuchel, and how his position at the club is not secure.

This morning I woke up, and to my greatest surprise I saw an official statement from Chelsea stating that they've parted ways with (Sacked) Thomas Tuchel.

Damn, I knew his job wasn't secure, but It all seems too soon. I never would have guessed that would be his last Chelsea game in charge. I felt and still feel it's too early. He just spent a huge sum on a set of new players who match his system, at least let him try to manage them for a while,no. He's been sent packing after a run of bad games.

Funny how he joined us under similar circumstances in the 2020/21 season. Except then It was mid season, and now we're currently still at the beginning of the season.

In Thomas Tuchels short time at Chelsea he's achieved a lot. He won the Uefa Champions league, the Super Cup, and the Club world cup. He also reached 2 domestic finals last season all in a span of just 100 for the team. But towards the end of last season and the beginning of this season Chelsea haven't been as good as they were in the past. We can use fatigue as an excuse for the end of last season, but this season they've only had one game where they played and genuinely looked like a team, and that was in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

The stats even show that Tuchels last 25 games are almost Identical and even worse than Lampard's record in his last 25 games.

Nonetheless, I still feel he should have been given a bit more time to work out what was wrong. He's a master tactician and I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes next. Hopefully this decision doesn't come to haunt us in the future.

At the moment Chelsea are working tirelessly to hire a new coach. They had three targets Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, and Zinedine Zidane. The more realistic options being Graham Potter and Pochettino.

From the news on Twitter it seems it's more likely to be Potter. Brighton allowed them to negotiate and currently the negotiations are in progress.

As a fan I'm having mixed feelings. While I think Potter is a fantastic coach and has done so well to make Brighton a mid to top table club in such a short time, I just don't know if he'll be able to cope with the pressure at Chelsea. With Brighton the standards are not too high, he's currently even overperforming, but at a team like Chelsea he's expected to win every game and it's not clear whether he's ready for that yet.

On the bright side, if he does join, he knows how to make use of both a back 3 and a back 4 system, so it'll be a bit easier to adapt to his style of play. His style of play is quite direct and may benefit some of our players.

The Tuchel sacking really came as a shock, who would have thought the new board was just as ruthless as the old one. What are your thoughts on the sacking of Thomas Tuchel? I'd like to know in the comment section. Thanks for reading, have a great day.

Was surprised at the news too, felt that was just too early.
Thomas did good in Chelsea no cap and its just the beginning of the season a little patience from Chelsea would have been better.
I have a feeling Chelsea is going to regret this but then lets wait and see
I'll be here

Well Potter has been signed.i hope they don't regret this Sha. Hopefully it turns out to be the right decision in the long run.

Hopefully

It's the new players that I feel a bit sorry for (not much mind since they, like most PL players, are way overpaid but that's a whole different rant ... lol!!)

A lot of why they made the decision to move to Chelsea will have to do with the manager in charge at the time of the decsion, so his sacking now makes those decisions seem pointless. Will these players be as keen to play for the new boss - only time will tell i suppose.

Who's next for the chopping block I wonder?

Exactly, new players like Aubameyang and Co. Graham Potter has already been hired. He hasn't managed a top club before but Chelsea have put their faith in him. Hopefully he's able to manage the dressing room properly.

Of course, now that Potter has been appointed - with a five year deal (although one wonders how much that is worth if he doesn't get the results the owners will demand in a decent timeframe), I feel sympathy for the Brighton players and organisation, and indeed their long suffering fans, who have had an excellent start to this year's campaign, following on from a fabulous 9th place last year. With the guiding light that got them to that position moving on, how deflated are those players going to feel to effectively have to start over again with a new managers philosophy and ideas.

I've seen that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is the favourite to take over at Brighton, and if that does happens and with their excellent start in the Scottish Premiership the whole merry go round starts all over again and again and again, dependent on who they poach ...

Hmm you're right, Chelsea has destabilized brighton to an extent. But from what I know, Brightons management were quite supportive. They allowed Chelsea speak to Potter almost instantly. Though their fans are not happy, the club is confident they can continue to move forward.

I actually like brighton, and the way they play. If there was the possibility of Chelsea getting a better manager, I'd have liked to see brighton continue with Potter . Oh well, I wish them Good luck.

As for Celtic, I don't really know much about the Scottish prem, but I'm sure Celtic won't do too bad without their manager. Worst case they become mid table for that season.

I don't know and it is a very risky bet, bringing in a DT with no European experience like Potter.
Tuchel's sacking was very premature and very strange as they bought every player he asked for only to sack him a week later.

Exactly, he was sacked just after backing him. He made a few dodgy signings and was very strong headed tactically, but he should have been given more time.

I don't even know what to say about Graham Potter. He's done a good job at brighton, but no one knows how he'll do at Chelsea

I feel it was too soon as well. He was the perfect fit for Chelsea but I understand the moment results weren't going their way. That Champions League loss was the final straw.

Yes, according to news they made the decision before then, but that's what they always say. Probably they were still contemplating and finalized it after that match. Don't even know what to expect from Chelsea going forward

You are right. They announced Graham Potter a day after the sack. The decision has been made prior.
