RE: Hive FPL Review: The Manchester Teams

There's a lot to think about with these 2 sides...

Man Utd could provide some very interesting options, especially if Ronaldo is allowed to leave. If this happens, Fernandes might return to his former self (although his performances had dropped well before Ronaldo appeared) and should be back on penalties. Things have looked promising in pre-season for Rashford who at £6.5m could be an absolute bargain, especially considering that he was priced at £9.5m for the previous 2 seasons. You've got to go back to his breakthrough season in 2015/16 to find him at a lower price. If Ronaldo leaves, he might even play up front. He's one I've got an eye on, along with Sancho. Let's face it, Man Utd can't be worse than they were last season but I doubt any of them will be in my squad when GW1 comes around.

Man City on the other hand are difficult to ignore. The sales of Sterling and Jesus who shared the Right Wing spot with Mahrez last season bodes well for Mahrez. Similarly, on the left for Grealish. The question is where Foden's going to play - he was something of a favourite for Pep in the Premier League last season and started as a false 9 more than any other position. With Haaland, that's unlikely to happen again so I'm expecting him to be cutting in from the right and Grealish from the left. Mahrez tends to be Pep's favourite player for the Champions League and with the condensed schedule before the World Cup, if we see this again then I like the look of Foden at £8m. Kyle Walker is a cheap way into Man City's defence at £5m if they don't sign a new right back but Cancelo's attacking threat is difficult to ignore for the extra £2m.

There's potentially a lot to like in both teams but I'll only be looking at the blue half of Manchester for GW1 (unless Ronaldo leaves).
