Rome, September 15 (Sunmarg Live) Japan's Kei Nishikori defeated Spain's Albert Ramos Vinálos 6–4, 7–6 (3) in successive sets to enter the second round of the Italian Open tennis tournament, while the world Number one player Serbia's Novak Djokovic and number two Spain's Rafael Nadal got a bye in the first round.
This is Nishikori's first win of the season. Nishikori won his sixth match point and finished the match in two hours. This tournament is being played without an audience. On 15th seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria beat wildcard player Gianluca Major of Italy 7-5, 6-1 and Croatia's Marin Cilic beat Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-4 in the second. Made room in the round.
