Real Madrid seem to be cleaning up their defense quite significantly this summer. Sergio Ramos has switched to PSG and Varane looks set to sign with Manchester United. The Spanish capital club, on the other hand, has announced that they have secured right-back Daniel Carvajal's signature on a new contract.
The previous agreement ran until the summer of 2022, but the new agreement ensures that the parties have paperwork on each other until the summer of 2025. The past season was ruined by various injuries, which meant that there were only 13 La Liga matches for the 29-year-old back.
Carvajal switched to Real Madrid from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2013. It has turned into 296 matches in all tournaments in the Spanish big club and mixed, among other things, four Champions League trophies.

Great one from the Spanish defender deciding to stay at the certain Club despite the departure of certain key figures. Him along with club captain Marcelo will be one of the leaders on the club. Hope the coordinate the younger ones going forward.
Last season was quite a terrible one for the right-back defender due to injuries suffered causing him to miss several games. I believe this season he will step up and become once again an integral part of the team.
As long as the defence is concerned the club at Madrid will also have to go shopping in the summer transfer to make one or two additions to that department to make it a little bit more stronger than it is currently as carvajal and captain Marcelo won't be able to do it all at the back.
