Tajuan Heckuva Game

So if you know a New York Mets fan, such as myself; my post yesterday was doom and gloom and 2 wins in a row later my post today is about optimism blowing in like the #7 train heading towards Willets Point in Queens, New York home of the Mets.

Well today, one of our Free Agent offseason last minute signings had a huge game on the mound as he was the starting pitcher in the rubber game of a 4 game series against the St. Louis Cardinals where we needed to win to gain a split in the series.

Although, Trevor Bauer and maybe a few other options were more of a target for the Mets; I wanted Tajuan on our team. I just has a good feeling about the guy and he hasn't disappointed.

Today, he pitched 7 innings, gave up ONLY 1 hit, ZERO earned runs, NO walks and EIGHT strikeouts and he at one point retired 18 Cardinals in a row. In the process he lowered his ERA to 2.38 - not bad for a last minute signing.

He was a highly touted prospect, but unfortunately went through the Tommy John surgery 3 years ago and we are now benefiting from his road back to the promise he had coming up early in his career. Still a young guy, so could be so crucial for the Mets to survive the season with a solid rotation going into the playoffs; if we can make it in.

We are now at 500 with a record of 13 and 13. Playing 500 ball with that lineup, the rotation we boast and the bullpen keeping us in games will always be puzzling to us Mets fans, but we are still in it to win it.

Let's Go Mets!
