Barcelona's interim president claims Messi's exit last summer would have been good financially.

Barcelona interim president Carles Tusquets claims that he believes Messi's departure last summer from the catalan club would have been good for the club financially.

The interim president raised eye brows earlier in the week when he said he would have allowed the superstar footballer to leave if he was in charge of the club back in the summer.

Those comments didn't sit well with current manager Ronaldo Koeman who said the interim president's words were unhelpful in the current situation but the president has continued to speak about the issue pointing out how the club stood the benefit had the Argentine left in the summer.

Barcelona have been one of the clubs hit hard economically by the covid 19 pandemic and it is believed the club made a loss of 88 million pounds in 2020.
