Tottenham hosted Burnley and Gareth Bale stole the attention on the night with an impressive performance. There is no denying his quality for a few seasons now, that quality has dropped and he has struggled for form even at Tottenham but on this day, he gave a reminder of who he was and who he could still be.

The game had barely started when Son found space at the side to release a ball into the box and Gareth Bale was instinctive enough to get in there and poke home. It was a great start for Tottenham in the 2nd minute. Exactly what they needed to calm their nerves and take charge of the game after a series of bad result that has seen them go down the table.

Not too long after, Harry Kane went all the way rather than giving a pass. It was a lovely strike from him but he missed marginally wide. That should have been the second goal for Tottenham and his own first but never to be denied after a brilliant long-range pass from Gareth Bale in the 15th minute, Kane went all in and unleashed a lovely strike that found the back of the net to give his side 2 goals advantage.

Tottenham players weren't done and in the 31st minute, Reguilon's excellent delivery into the box found Lucas Moura and after controlling the ball with his feet, he wasted no time in burying his chances to go 3 goals up. What a lovely first-half blitz for Tottenham. Burnley looked helpless on the day.

The icing on the cake came for Bale in the 55th minute when Son ran the length of the field and his side-footed pass was aimed at Bale, who wasted no time with his composure and precision to bend a curling effort to the other side of the net. The goalkeeper stayed rooted on the spot. What a beautiful goal to cap off a brilliant performance from him. That was two goals and an assist on the day. A man of the match performance from him.

Not long after, Kane tried an audacious effort that the goalkeeper can only parry away. It was a lovely strike but not enough to beat the goalkeeper. Pope also kept Son's shot out for a corner kick. It would have gotten worse if not for his heroics to reduce the damage already done.

The game ended with Tottenham's 4-0 hammering of Burnley. Tottenham is now in 8th position while Burnley would be hopeful of beating the drop. They are presently in 15th place. A day to smile for Mourinho and the pressure will reduce a bit since they have found their scoring boots while Bale is easing back to form just at the right time in the season.
