As at Monday, the Argentina football federation are preparing a letter to send to the England FA that they should please don't play their players that would participate in the World Cup when it's a week towards the one week that they'll give the players to rest for the World Cup match that would begin. On a normal circumstances, they give the players a week rest in order to rest for the World Cup that would commence and that is practically international break but now, Argentina are demanding for two weeks. I don't know if they have send the letter because the premier league never make any comment concerning that but Argentina can't force the club not to play their players, even if the match would be played in a day to wWorld Cup, club still have power to play the player.
Clubs are the one paying the player's money but upon that, country have power more than the club, according to FIFA rule and that is why there is international break where players go to their different countries for duty black but club can play the players anytime they want no matter what happens so far it's not an international break, the only time they didn't have the power to make the players wait is when it's international break. As World Cup is important to Argentina, so World Cup is very important to some people too, most especially the fans, so if they need their players to play in order to win the match, they would definitely play them.
The only way I think they can do is rest their players when they are winning with big margins and they are sure that they won't concede a goal. For instance if their club is already winning with up to 3 or 4 goals, they can substitute their players and make them rest but not playing them may not be possible because that is what they are being paid for. But if the club didn't really need the Maggy, there is nothing that should make them play their players, they can help the country by not playing them. It happened at Egypt recently, as Egypt know that the match that they would play is not really a big match, they sent Mohammed Salah back to England because Liverpool is not in a good condition and they need Mohammed Salah.
It is not even only Argentina that did that, even Didier Decham (France coach) told Paris Saint German coach to please always rest Kylian Mbappe for him, but did the players even want to rest? Kylian Mbappe want to play all matches so that he would have many goals, the same thing as Neymar Junior, even Lionel Messi hate it when he sit on bench, they don't feel happy when they are substitute talk less of putting them on bench or not even puting their name among the players that would play at all, so whatever their country says can't be effected if they aren't ready to sit down on bench. Even Eling Haaland that his country isn't going to World Cup gets annoyed when he's substituted.
