Fifa Best Award - A farce in the football world.

FIFA presented the best awards to the deserving individuals, but they did something quite unusual. Some of the decisions were so out of the ordinary that the award became the talk of the town. As far as I am aware, the award was decided by a panel of journalists, as well as coaches and captains from the various football-playing countries. As a result, it was essentially a democracy. However, it has both advantages and disadvantages. There had been some rumors previously that the actual vote had been changed in order to favor a particular candidate. The process is unquestionably contentious. There is no doubt about that. The level of controversy is at its highest point in this edition. And the resulting controversy compelled me to write this blog post.

Alexia Putellas was the subject of the first major contentious decision of this years award ceremony. She was awarded the Ballon d'Or as well as the FIFA Best Player Award. However, guess what? She has no place in the FifPro Best Eleven. What on earth was FIFA doing to make that happen? A player who has just won the best player award does not belong among the best eleven players. It's the equivalent of inviting someone to a buffet dinner and then telling him or her that you won't be able to eat anything xD.

The second highly contentious decision involved awarding FifPro Eleven a 3-3-4 formation, which was highly unusual at the time. It's possible that this is the first time FIFA has taken such an initiative. Even if I were to play FIFA 21 or FIFA 22 in my spare time, I don't think anyone would be willing to take part in a game with this formation. It's possible that FIFA was dreaming when they chose the formation. Or it's possible that they were forced to make that decision in order to award someone in their favor.

Another thing that caught my eye was that Mo Salah received 631 points to finish third, but he did not appear in FIFA's best eleven, which was published. Benzema, in my opinion, also deserves to be included in the best eleven. The previous year, he had his best season to date in his entire professional career. However, he was also out of place.

Despite the fact that the FC Barcelona Femini team won the treble last season, there was not a single member of the squad who earned a spot in the best eleven.
I'm not sure how these decisions came to be made, but this award ceremony was extremely questionable because of these bizarre decisions.

I've lost trust in these voting systems because they are always flawed. They had to switch things up to favour those who felt aggrieved with the Balon d'Or. It's all politics even if they make it seem like it's not.

You’re spot on my friend . The award to me is always an excessive comedy when I see players who claim certain awards. In my opinion, it has lost credibility.

It's more political than it is of merit. They sample the opinions of others to know and see what can fly and it's evident with the way they tweaked results and alter things. 3-4-4 ... What a joke.

My friend @moealdabbagh actually wrote a very interesting article about how the award is in general baseless and that it is drawing its interest from that. If you think about it deep enough you'd find that there's literally no way to pick the best player. You can't even pick a starting 11.
