Sergio Aguero - The unlucky prince of football.

13th May 2012. I was at a friend's house at the time. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the Manchester City match. I was completely unaware that it was a make-or-break game for Manchester City the entire time I was watching it. And, of course, I was completely unaware that it was the league decider. It wasn't until the very end of the game that I realized what was going on with everything. I was just praying for Manchester City to come out on top. It was in the 93rd minute that Aguero performed a miracle in front of the entire stadium. It was heavenly when Martin Tyler said “Manchester City still alive here. Balotelli….Aguerrroooooo…I swear you will never see anything like this ever again. So watch it, drink it in…”. Manchester United was waiting for the final whistle to blow, but the football god had other plans in mind. He had a miracle for us. A goal that changed the course of history. Manchester City has won the Premier League for the first time in forty years. And Sergio Aguero was one of the most important pillars of that structure.

He had previously played for Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid was never tired of the number of world-class strikers it produced. Diego Forlan, Sergio Aguero, Radamel Falcao, Diego Costa are some of the names that it produced. I was able to see a large number of them. Sergio Aguero was in the prime of his career when he left for Manchester City. He had the option of joining a more prestigious club, but he chose Manchester City. Man City was still a mediocre club before the Arabian Petrodollar purchased the club. They had an idea for a project as soon as they purchased the club. Sergio Aguero was interested in a project that was brought to his attention. It was then as if we were watching a Greek myth about a Greek god. He was able to become the club's leading goalscorer and the fourth-leading goalscorer in the Premier League during his time there. It was disappointing to see him leave Manchester City without having lifted the Champions League trophy with the club. They came close to winning on two occasions but ultimately fell short.

Sergio Aguero joined FC Barcelona during this season, and it was one of the dream transfers that I had always wished to see happen. Having the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi in the same club was not predestined for him in any way. In any case, he has appeared in 5 matches for FC Barcelona and has managed to score a goal in the El Classico. His heart and chest problems have forced him to retire from professional football, which was announced just this week. He is only 33 years old. It is entirely due to his misfortune that he is forced to stop here. One of the most recognizable strikers in the history of modern football was forced to deal with a situation that could only be described as a stroke of bad luck. Prince, I bid you farewell. We'll miss you on the football field.

Sort:

It's sad to see a player of his talent finish off his career in this manner.

It's been hard for him in recent years due to his niggling injuries, then this.

I can only pray he finds joy in whatever he chooses to do from now cos this kind of thing can lead to depression.

I hope he continues to stream in twitch, At least I will be able to see him there regularly.

Aguerooooo! My goodness that moment is one of my all-time favourite moments in football/soccer. Fun fact, a speech and language therapist actually studied the commentary and determined the correct spelling is 'Aguerooooo'.

‘To spell the word with multiple ‘R’s’, would indicate that Tyler has developed a continental rolling of the tongue. Extra U’s and E’s would also be inaccurate.

‘Extending these vowels would result in a longer sound before the R, which cannot be heard in the clip. To be even more technical, no additional G’s should be used as that would soften Tyler’s initial A – resulting in him sounding scared rather than excited!’

Interesting read on the full article here for those interested.

Yes..It was worth to listen every time I hear it.

And about the article, It's mind-blowing that there is an article about it.

That was some moment to see live, amazing stuff. Sky Sports unfortunately plays in 5 times a week every week since, so I'm a bit sick of seeing it now. Can only imagine what it's like watching it again and again for United fans.

It was very much a case of the right man at the right place at the right time. Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

I've familiar with this kind of stuff. Star Sports plays the highlights of those matches only won by the Indian Cricket team. But when they lose, they just forgot to play the highlights of those matches Lol.

Ha ha, yes, that's it exactly! It's like when your favourite song gets overplayed on the radio, and then you get sick of hearing it, until 6 years later and you rediscover it as the masterpiece it is..

Amazing idea of the posting dear sir
