The second T20 match of the series was played between India vs Srilanka yesterday at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Srilanka beat India by 4 wickets and level the 3 match series by 1-1. The 3rd t20 match will be the series decider match. So the next match will be very interesting.
Srilanka won the toss and invited India to bat first. India have started well. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shikhar Dhawan made 49 runs opening partnership. Ruturaj Gaikwad have gone for 21 runs then Devdutt Padikkal came out and made another 32 runs partnership with Dhawan. Dhawan played a very slow innings though he is an aggressive batsman. He scored 40 runs in 42 balls including 5 fours. Padikkal scored 29 runs in 23 balls including a four and six. After breaking their partnership others Indian batsman totally failed to play a good innings and finally India scored total 132 runs by 5 wickets.
Lankan bowlers performed great. Almost everyone were very economical as they abled to stop India only for 132 runs. Akila Dananjaya picked up two wickets. Chameera, Hasaranga, Shanaka each picked up 1 wicket.
Srilanka haven't started well. They have lost top orders early. But Lankan opener Minod Bhanuka played defensive innings and scored 36 tuns in 31 balls including 4 fours. Dhananjaya de Silva scored unbeaten 40 runs in 34 balls including a four and six. Chamika Karunaratne played a quick short innings of 12 runs in 6 balls and finally remained unbeaten. Srilanka easily chased down the target with two balls remaining.
Indian bowlers tried their best to stop Lankan batsman but the target was very small. Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, Rahul Chahar each picked up one wicket.
