Sportstalk Curation Showcase #20

Hello and welcome to another edition of the Sportstalk Curation Showcase where we feature posts that deserve to be in the spotlight. Trying to build up your following through posting is what we should all be striving to do so I hope this helps everyone who is highlighted. These posts are all live meaning they fall well within the 7 day window of curation.

Last Man Standing Gameweek 9 .We have a Winner!!!

Up first we have @blanchy who has run a smooth and exciting competition that eventually had a winner after 9 rounds which is unheard of. Not @blanchy running a smooth competition, but 9 rounds as this is normally over within 6 weeks. What I really enjoyed about this competition is the amount of engagement that has taken place as these competitions kind of wake up the community. Just on this post alone there are 28 comments which shows the success of what @blanchy is building. Lets see when the new tournament starts with more users joining the contest I am certain the 50 comment barrier will be broken.

Formula One - Singapore GP - Yellow Flag Festival!

@ga38jem is back as expected with his Formula One weekend roundup. Singapore is one of those tracks that has seen more safety cars than races itself hence the title being the Yellow Flag festival. I tend to agree with @ga38jem on this race as it was not one for the highlight reel as there was so many stoppages that it actually allowed you to switch over to other sports and actually forgot there was a race happening. This is what happens when you go racing in the tropics as when it rains it rains. The talk of the weekend is all about the punishments that will be dished out to those teams who broke the budget caps. These are all just rumors at the current time, but serious implications if these are true as a definite advantage would have been gained not only for last season, but this one and the next as well.

Russian athletes case || El caso de los atletas Rusos

@kraken99 discusses the catch 22 Russian athletes are in as sanctions are preventing them from competing. If they speak out against the war in Ukraine this will be seen as favorable but also detrimental as that would be reckless. Russia would not look kindly on that type of action and would most certainly punish those who speak out of turn. It is a no win situation and the Russian athletes seem to always be in the dog box due to the Government one way or another. If it is not steroids and the special program designed by the Government officials then it is now the war. @kraken99 raises this point and it is an interesting one as the next Olympics is already not that far off. Less than 2 years in Paris starting on the 26th July 2024. Lets hope the war is long over before then and the athletes are able to compete with or without the sanctions that will most likely still be in place.

Two Irishmen to row across the Atlantic Part 4

@ablaze is doing an epic journey of his own with this series which is a fascinating read. If you haven't seen any of these yet It comes highly recommended as I have enjoyed every part so far. They haven't got that far and wont tell you anymore as please do yourselves a favor and start from the beginning. True stories are always interesting as it is the experience of trying to understand why people do things in the first place.

Hive FPL - Gameweek 9 Preview: Derby Delight

@hivefpl was actually fairly accurate with some of their tips this week as this preview named some key players to include in your lineups. Brighton's Trososard was a good tip along with Haaland from Manchester City for Captain. Both players scored 3 goals a piece in their respective games which would have boosted the points earned by having those selections. I personally would never have picked Trossard, but just goes to show you the amount of work that goes in behind the scenes reviewing the teams giving you all the useful tips.

Another great batch of posts and all I can say is keep them rolling in as there is so much to write about. Thanks again to each and everyone of you who helps make the Sportstalk community such a fun tribe to be involved in.
