The 5 NFL Teams Most Likely to Relocate

There are many cities ready to host the next NFL expansion team. The league may look to relocate a franchise instead. If it does, is your NFL team likely to relocate?

5. Buffalo Bills

An NFL team likely to relocate is the Buffalo Bills but they've seemingly secured their future by agreeing to a 30-year lease with the state of New York and Erie County for a new $1.4 billion stadium to be built in Orchard Park.

The stadium will be completed in 2026 and will replace Highmark Stadium, the third oldest NFL stadium in America ahead of only Chicago and Kansas City's stadiums. Renovating Highmark Stadium would've cost $1 billion and a new stadium would keep NFL relocation at bay for now.

The Buffalo Bills have secured $250 million from Erie County in a unanimous vote.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been an NFL team likely to relocate for some time. They went 12 years without making the playoffs until Tom Brady and Tampa Bay hosted and won Super Bowl LV in 2021.

Tampa Bay's Super Bowl success has helped stave off NFL relocation talks for the time being and the franchise value has since sky rocketed following their hometown Super Bowl win. Tampa's lease on Raymond James Stadium expires in 2028 and NFL relocation rumours will only increase as we get closer to then.

3. Tennessee Titans

The Titans moved to Tennessee in 1997 from Houston when NFL relocation of the Oilers took place. Like the Buccaneers, the Titans lease on Nissan Stadium is set to expire in 2028 and they need to find a new stadium as a priority if Tennessee wants to avoid NFL relocation.

Prior to the Titans ending an 8-year playoff drought in 2017, Tennessee were an NFL team likely to relocate. A record 600,000 fans across the three-day 2019 NFL Draft event held in Nashville makes a case for keeping the franchise in Tennessee.
