Now given that I have been playing hash kings for months now I have a decent grasp of how to play. When I noticed on the Hash Kings discord they where looking for a guide, so I started brushing up on the finer points.
Finally I feel as if I can make a decent guide, since there is a good deal of information to go over this may end up being a series, ill try to keep things concise.
Avatars
Plots are worthless without a farmer & you need avatars at the very least to participate in raids. Given Avatars are so important lets start here.
Note in the image above the avatars shown have 2 number values above them on the left you have the avatars XP. On the Right is the avatars level General Spice-Skunk the 3rd avatar in from the left is lvl16 & has 1455 XP.
Despite the avatar being lvl16 its power is very low only 55 this is due to the manor in which I leveled General Spice-Skunk up.
A high level is important but so to is the power stat General Spice-Skunk was leveled up by smoking joints which simply increases the level. To increase the Power you need to utilize the forge, I didn't understand this until recently.
Armed with this new insight I set out to utilize the forge with my new Avatar Tank-420. Using the forge a single time at the cost of 1 avatar & $2 in BUDs My Tank-420 was increased to the following stats.
So only lvl2 & Tank-420 power is 29 above my lvl16 General Spice-Skunk. Check out the following screenshot from the Hash Kings Git Book.
With the new avatars series 2 we got introduced to a new factor when leveling up which is called efficiency
Efficiency is according to their Git Book quote-
"It is a stat that all avatars in Hashkings have and that has an effect on the amount of XP the avatar can absorb from smoking a joint."
So a Epic Avatar gains XP easier & starts with more power as well as having a usage of 4.
With legendary of course being the best, but also the rarest so there is a bit of a trade off with that ill get to in a moment.
The Level of your avatar besides being relevant in Raids, also allows users to craft better NFTs. Level 1 avatars can craft pinners level 15 Hemp Wrapped joints & so on.
Many may not realize this Level based crafting applies to water tower NFTs as well. Being a Water baron pays well when you have enough leveled up water tower NFTs.
With 8 land plots constantly growing plants I never pay for HKWATER with the 3 Water Towers shown above.
Due to my error of smoking joint NFTs instead of utilizing the forge you can see my 2 level 16 & 17 Avatar NFTs have piss poor power ratings generating a measly 32 BUDs from the raid.
What it comes down to is the Avatar level is important but it is far from the whole story keep this in mind when building your Avatars up.
Forge
Yeah the Forge appears simple but much like a real one its deceptively complex & can result in disaster when used incorrectly.
This formula above in essence gives you a general idea honestly you want to combine duplicates if at all possible.
According to what they state about how the forge works in the Hash Kings git book. If I combine my 2 epic avatars of the same type (The Heavy Johnny mark 2) I should get the best outcome.
Now we are talking 136 power is my highest base power yet!!
See this is why I claimed the legendary Avatars can be a double edged sword. They have killer base stats but you likely wont get the bonusses from the forge like I just did.
As you get to higher & higher levels you will notice the forge prices increase with your level adding $2 for every 10 levels.
Raids
So a quick overview you see the Hash Kings game & their subsequent tokenomics is a delicately balanced system. For Raids the Buds received comes from a rewards pool Treasury funded by buds burned in the MOTA pool.
The TLDR is the Hash Kings game economy is generated & funded by players. Including the Raids Treasury which gets funded by burning buds for MOTA which ill explain the use of later.
As well as the treasury BUDS levels to take into consideration with raids you must also consider your Avatars Power, Level, & Final Power.
We covered this earlier in the avatar section.
Raids rewards factor in your FP in comparison to every account in the raid & distributes them amongst participants evenly.
The different Raids Bosses have different level requirements the one most are familiar with is the entry level raids lvl-0 to lvl-25.
Given we all share the raids rewards amongst all the competing avatars you want to get to a higher level for meaningful rewards.
Just look how empty Raids lvl-25 to lvl-50 is literally no one at time of writing I dont know about you, but I'm speed running to level 25.
As the Raid difficulty increases so to do the rewards, Speaking as a person currently in the top 10 players of a few play to earn games. Often when you make it that much further in a game the perks are more worth while for playing.
Given the upper section of raids is as vacant as my neighbors house after they got raided, its time to get looting.
Just kidding the police already robbed them, why loot a empty drug house?
Disturbing glimpse into my home life aside the Hash Kings Raids system I feel is money for the taking you just have to put in the effort. Speaking from experience the more you commit to a play to earn game the better your payout.
Above is my latest play to earn leader board pay out in Zombie Coin Miner on WAX.
Zombie Coin Miner is a perfect example if you dabble you likely wont make much $$ commit however & the rewards are numerous.
MOTA
As I previously said the BUDS in the Treasury for Raids are added by players burning BUDS for MOTA in the MOTA pool.
So why do you want MOTA?
Staking MOTA can Generate Seeds which ill cover now.
Seeds
You obtain Seed NFTs by Staking MOTA to the Native region the Strain is grown in in game.
Excluding Special Seeds which grow in 24 hours in every environment 250 BUDS a piece, Seed grow time & yield are as follows.
Cannabis fun fact
Fun fact Gorilla Glue Number 4 has Durban Poison & chocolate Thai in its lineage. This is why some of the choice specimens resist mold their natural resin production is back in balance which results in a secondary immune system.
However its a genetically unstable example of this adaptation only certain specimens of Gorilla Glue Pheno number 4 share this trait.
Love this game but as a pot grower I know the water level requirements are all sorts of backwards. Doesn't matter its the best cannabis blockchain game I have found & they only get better.
Personally I pick the cheaper seeds for south America & Mexico as they are easily maintained HKWATER wise the plots are inexpensive. Not to mention they basically give the seeds away on NFTmart.
Given I may even buy them in HKWATER & I produce more HKWATER then I need its a system requires no monetary input.
Land Plots
Other then the Special seeds like these shown below👇
Typically Seeds only grow in specific land plots.
So South America plots work with Panama Red & Columbian Gold.
Acapulco Gold grows in Mexico land plots
So on & so forth
Simply select a land plot choose a corresponding seed plant & water harvest once grown you grew a plant you then harvest for BUDS.
WATER towers
Not much to add here you either own Water tower NFTs & produce HKWATER daily.
Which you may upgrade to produce more HKWATER
You can also rent out Water Tower NFTs or rent them to utilize as appose to buying HKWATER on the secondary market.
Growing Plants
Rather simple seed + corresponding land plot + HKWATER = Plant.
Add the Necessary HKWATER .
Once watered you wait X number of days required.
Plants do die so no set it & forget it.
Harvest within the time widow between being fully grown & before it dies you earn BUDS.
So what do you do with BUDS Burn them, stash / (Hodl) them or sell them. You may also use the MOTA pool system.
Hash Kings economics

Spread sheets & flow charts I love em. As well as sneak peaks into upcoming Game mechanics.
I'm talking about literal game changers here people, automation the sweetest word in the English language.
Harvest perks & I do less work a stoners best friend.
Apparently the new Avatars share a thematic appearance to the URFA robots but are in-fact different NFT lines in this colection.
Right now you can buy the $2 gen 2 Avatar packs (Robots) these NFT avatar packs like the Zombie packs before them are only available for a limited time.
As I pointed out in the Avatar & forge sections of this write up it pays to blend multiple Avatars of the same type via forge. Knowing there exists an incentive to burn the avatars & the rarer Avatar NFTs posses better stats now is a good time to stock up.
Take this NFT for example an Epic Zombie Avatar while the packs where available would fetch 2-3 HIVE a piece. Now with supplies dwindling the same NFT goes for 12.3 HIVE.
Like Splinterlands or Rising Star the NFTs from Hash Kings are something that appreciates with Age like wine or whiskey.

I'm very interested in forging, I would love to grab another Zombie Queen and forge them together before I burn through joints levelling her to get to a higher pool for a bigger reward like you stated. but I'm not sure I'd ever gain back that investment 😅
I know my avatar is weak right now but even so I only net around 1-20 BUDS from Raids, it would be a hefty investment for another avatar, forge, levelling up then stockpiling all the BUDS till I can break even which is a shame as I would like to.
I know I shouldn't think about it that way and just enjoy the playing aspect but for Crypto games it is a tad hard as we all want to make somewhat profits and see gains, I'd rather know if I invest $50 now potentially that will earn itself back in x weeks or months, not sure that'd be the case here over years but I could be wrong 😂
