Inspiración|Inspiration
Cuando vi el tema del concurso de Pixelart me vinieron a la mente varios temas y películas... Pensé en dibujar hechizeros, dragones, personajes Harry Potter o campanilla del Peter Pan de Disney. Sin embargo me acordé de mi película e historia favorita relacionada con la magia pero en la cual la magia no es lo más importante. Señor de los Anillos. Tolkien fue el primero en escribir libros de fantasía que recopilaron una cantidad increible de caracteristicas e influencias de cuentos folclóricos de varios países y en crear idiomas propias para sus cuentos. Pero lo mas sorprendente para mi son las moralejas que dejan estas historias.
When I saw the Pixelart contest theme, I immediately thought about different movies and themes... I thought about drawing wizards, dragons, characters from Harry Potter or even Tinkerbell from Disney's Peter Pan. But I remembered my favorite movie and story related to magic, even though magic is moy the most important thing in those stories. The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien was the first to write fantasy books with a great quantity of influences and characteristics from folklore of different countries. He also have created languages for the characters from his books. But the most incredible to me is the moral of those stories.

El proyecto fue creado usando la app Pixel Studio. Usé dos imagenes diferentes de referencia para crear la imagen y 4 capas de dibujo para crear el gif:
- El rio
- Las paredes y los árboles
- Las puertas de Durin, el señor de Moria
- Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Sam y Frodo
The project was made using the Pixel Studio app. I've used two different images as a reference to create the image and 4 layers to make a gif:
- The river
- The walls and trees
- The doors of Durin, Lord of Moria
- Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Sam and Frodo
La magia|The magic
Elegí esa escena porqué era una de mis favoritas y una de las que más me enganchó la primera vez que vi la película de Señor de los Anillos. La sensación de magia y no saber lo que vendría detrás de esa puerta. Podría ser un reino poderoso, hermoso y prospero como esperaba Gimli y podía ser el terrorífico Balrog temido tanto por Gandalf. Pero en vez de continuar la esperada acción la película se detiene cuando Gandalf no logra descifrar el acertijo para poder entrar. Él era un mago poderoso que sabía muchas cosas pero no pudo resolver algo tan simple porque siempre esaba preparado para algo complejo. Esperaba una solución épica. La escritura sobre la puerta decía: Habla amigo y entra! Frodo, un simple hobbit, preguntó como se decía amigo en élfico y ésta fue la respuesta. ¿Por que esto me pareció tan importante? Pues los elfos y enanos siempre tuvieron discordias. Pero ésta puerta al reino enano fue hecha en tiempos cuando elfos y enanos hicieron una alianza para luchar juntos contra un mal mayor. La magia de la amistad ya olvidada y de la sencillez es la que estaba tallada en aquella roca.
I've chosen this scene because it is one of my favourites and it have surprised me the first time I saw the Lord of the Rings movie. The sensation of magic and to unknown what was behind that door. It could be a prosperous, mighty and beautiful kingdom as Gimli was expecting or it could be the terrible Balrog of which Gandalf was so afraid of. But instead of continuing the action in the movie all have stoped as Gandalf couldn't decrypt the riddle in order to enter. He was a powerful wizard who knew many things but he couldn't solve something simple. He was always prepared for something complex. He awaited for some epic solution. The inscription above the door said: Speak friend and enter! Frodo, a simple hobbit, asked how to spell friend in elvish and that was the answer to the riddle. Why it seems so important to me? Well elves and dwarfs always had their conflicts. But this particular door to a dwarf kingdom were made in times when elves and dwarfs made an alliance in order to fight against a great evil force. The magic of long forgotten friendship and the simplicity was carved into that rock.
