Halloween arrived and with it the whole parade of costumes on the theme of the celebration.
Halloween is not celebrated in Venezuela, it is not our party, it was adopted a few years ago due to the great propaganda brought from the United States with its famous trick or treat.
I would say that it is a combination of Carnival with the horror motifs that we always see on television and in cinema movies, since we do not go from house to house to ask for candy and say the famous phrase.
Halloween in my country is used as the main theme of a party that is for those dates, as in the case of my daughter who turns October 26. Some years ago she wanted to celebrate her birthday with this theme, so everything necessary for the decoration was done, from the food, the cake, the clothes and even the pets dressed as witches.
In the first photo, my daughter (the girl in the middle) wears black and has false teeth alluding to a vampire. At that time she was watching the Buffy series, The Vampire Stlayer a lot and took the theme for her disguise. The one on her right is my niece with a painted face of Katrina and on her left is a cute little Devil, with the red color that characterizes her.
In the second photograph my son appears with an impressive horror makeup in the Zombie style, The Walking Death. It was amazing how my daughter did this makeup without knowing anything about paint. Those are the things you do when you want something.
The painting gives the illusion of a broken mouth where you can see her teeth and gums and her torn clothing complements the outfit.
This photo shows two boys who are married and dressed alike. Their makeup was perfect, they said they did it themselves, amazing.
Halloween is a pagan celebration and people follow it for following a fashion or for playing and unlocking for a while. Personally, I do not like this party since I am not a fan of horror films where they show the living dead or any form of violent death, but I agreed to my daughter's wish out of respect for her decision and to see what happened at the party. Everyone had fun, which is the goal of a celebration.
Catholics celebrate the Day of the Dead on November 1, the day after Halloween. But here nothing special is done that day, as in Mexico where food is placed on the graves of the dead. Here a mass is celebrated for the relatives who have gone to heaven, as it should be.
I believe that these dates are just a trend that has become customary in some countries and that each one has adopted different forms of the same theme.

Llegó Halloween y con él todo el desfile de disfraces sobre el tema de la celebración.
En Venezuela no se celebra Halloween, no es una fiesta nuestra, fue adoptada desde hace algunos pocos años debido a la gran propaganda traída desde los Estados Unidos con su famoso truco o trato.
Yo diría que es una combinación de Carnaval con los motivos de terror que siempre vemos en la televisión y en las películas de cine, ya que nosotros no salimos de casa en casa a pedir caramelos y decir la famosa frase.
El Halloween en mi país es usado como tema principal de una fiesta que sea para esas fechas, como el caso de mi hija que cumple el 26 de Octubre. Hace algunos años ella quería celebrar su cumpleaños con este tema, así que se hizo todo lo necesario para la decoración, desde la comida, el pastel, la vestimenta y hasta las mascotas se vistieron de brujas.
En la primera foto, mi hija (la chica de en medio) viste de negro y con unos dientes postizos alusivos a una vampiresa. Para ese entonces ella veía mucho la serie de Buffy, The Vampire Stlayer y tomó el tema para su disfraz. La que está a su derecha es mi sobrina con una cara pintada de Katrina y a su izquierda está una tierna Diablita, con el color rojo que lo caracteriza.
En la segunda fotografía aparece mi hijo con un impresionante maquillaje de terror al estilo Zombie, The Walking Death. Fue increíble como mi hija le hizo este maquillaje sin saber nada de pintura. Esas son las cosas que se hacen cuando se desea algo.
La pintura hace la ilusión de una boca rota donde se puede ver sus dientes y encías y su ropa rasgada complementa la vestimenta.
En esta foto se muestra a dos chicos que son esposos y se vistieron iguales. Sus maquillajes quedaron perfectos, ellos dijeron que se los hicieron ellos mismos, increíble.
El Halloween es una celebración pagana y las personas lo siguen por seguir una moda o por jugar y distraerse un rato. En lo personal no me gusta esta fiesta ya que no soy fan de las películas de terror donde muestran muertos vivientes o cualquier forma de muerte violenta, pero accedí al deseo de mi hija por respeto a su decisión y por ver qué pasaba en la fiesta. Todos se diviertieron, que es el objetivo de una celebración.
Los católicos celebran el Día de los muertos el 1ro de Noviembre, un día después de Halloween. Pero aquí no se hace nada especial ese día, como en México que le colocan comida a las tumbas de los muertos. Aquí se hace una misa por los familiares que han partido al cielo, como debería ser.
Considero que estas fechas son solo una moda que han hecho costumbre en algunos países y que cada uno ha adoptado de distintas formas un mismo tema.
