Hace milenios aprendimos de ciclos, el camino del sol en el cielo, las fases de la luna, estaciones de siembra y cosecha, el lenguaje de las estrellas. Con los ciclos aprehendimos el tiempo y con él sacerdotes y hechiceros nos dieron la ilusión de hacerlo nuestro. Pero somos del tiempo, del eterno presente, del pasado que nos trajo, del ajeno futuro que nos esquiva. Y he allí la paradoja esencial de la existencia: El tiempo es lo único valioso que tenemos y tiempo es lo único que nos falta. Hace milenios aprendimos de ciclos, de cambios, de balance… Aprendimos que “sin sombra no hay luz”.
Millenniums ago we learned about cycles, the path of the sun in the sky, the phases of the moon, the seasons of sowing and harvesting, the language of the stars. With the cycles we apprehended time and with it priests and sorcerers gave us the illusion of making it ours. But we belong to time, to the eternal present, to the past that brought us, to the alien future that eludes us. And therein is the essential paradox of existence: Time is the only valuable thing we have and time is the only thing we lack. Millenniums ago we learned of cycles, of changes, of balance... We learned that "without shadow there is no light".
