Hey Hivers! Once again sharing my entry in this week's challenge promoted in the MakeUp Power community. This time with the theme of mythological creatures. **

Comenzaré hablandoles un poco sobre la criatura que decidí recrear...

I'll start by talking a bit about the creature I decided to recreate ...

El Fauno

Fauno era un dios pastoral Romano. Los Romanos lo identificaban con el dios Griego Pan. Algunas veces el dios Griego Pan era asociado con el dios Romano Silvano, el dios de la naturaleza salvaje. Tal como su contraparte Griega, él tenía las patas y los cuernos de cabra.

Fauno era una deidad oracular. El podía predecir el futuro que le era revelado durante los sueños o por medio de voces supernaturales que salían de arboledas sagradas. También era considerado un gran músico.

Pan estaba cantando en una ocasión y declaró que él era mejor músico que Apolo. Una competencia se realizó entre los dos, con Tmolus sirviendo de juez. Apolo tenía mejor instrumento que Pan, y fué seleccionado como el ganador. Aunque Tmolus seleccionó a Apolo como el ganador, el rey Midas no estaba de acuerdo. Tmolus le convirtió las orejas al rey en orejas de burro como castigo.

Es común que se les confunda con Pan y con los Sátiros pues, al igual que los faunos tienen características tanto humanas como animales; a diferencia de los sátiros, los faunos tienen patas peludas, cola y orejas de ciervo, el resto de su cuerpo y cara es de humanos; e incluso son más amigables y tratables que los sátiros.

Fauno, el dios principal y antecesor de todos los faunos es el responsable de la invención del caramillo que es la flauta que todos los faunos tocan con gran destreza. De espíritu alegre, son amables e inofensivos; sin embargo, en algunas ocasiones gustan de hacer algunas travesuras a los humanos, pero por lo general acostumbran sólo a disfrutar de la música producto de sus caramillos y de los bailes que comparten con algunas ninfas. Dado que protegían los cultivos y ejercían influencia sobre las cosechas, para algunos agricultores no estaba de más tener a un fauno en sus campos.

En la tradición es descrito con un aspecto singular, pues tiene piernas y pies de macho cabrío, una cabeza con dos cuernos, la nariz aplastada y la barba y el cabello desordenado. Esta imagen se corresponde con las características del dios Pan de los griegos.

La adaptación mas famosa conocida hasta ahora de esta criatura es en la pelicula "Las Cronicas de Narnia: El Leon, La bruja y el Ropero con el personaje de Tumnus interpretado por James McAvoy.

Faun was a Roman pastoral god. The Romans identified him with the Greek god Pan. Sometimes the Greek god Pan was associated with the Roman god Silvano, the god of the wild. Like his Greek counterpart, he had the legs and horns of a goat.

Faun was an oracular deity. He could predict the future that was revealed to him during dreams or through supernatural voices coming out of sacred groves. He was also considered a great musician.

Pan was singing on one occasion and declared that he was a better musician than Apollo. A competition was held between the two, with Tmolus serving as judge. Apollo had a better instrument than Pan, and he was selected as the winner. Although Tmolus selected Apollo as the winner, King Midas disagreed. Tmolus turned the king's ears into donkey ears as punishment.

It's common to be confused with Pan and Satyrs because, like fauns, they have both human and animal characteristics; Unlike satyrs, fauns have hairy legs, a deer tail and ears, the rest of their body and face are human; and they are even friendlier and more tractable than satyrs.

Faun, the main god and ancestor of all fauns, is responsible for the invention of the pipe, which is the flute that all fauns play with great skill. Cheerful in spirit, they are kind and harmless; however, on some occasions they like to do some mischief to humans, but generally they only tend to enjoy the music produced by their pipes and the dances they share with some nymphs. Since they protected crops and exerted influence over crops, for some farmers it didn't hurt to have a faun in their fields.

In tradition he is described as having a unique appearance, as he has the legs and feet of a goat, a head with two horns, a flattened nose, and a messy beard and hair. This image corresponds to the characteristics of the god Pan of the Greeks.

The most famous adaptation known so far of this creature is in the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe with the character of Tumnus played by James McAvoy.

El paso a paso

Step by Step

1)Primero comencé dándole mas grosor a mis cejas con la pintura negra usando el pincel #000

First I started thickening my eyebrows with the black paint using the #000 brush.

2)Luego con el mismo pincel y la misma pintura hice un diseño en la parte lateral de los ojos.

Then with the same brush and the same paint I made a design on the side of the eyes.

3)Usé el mismo pincel con color blanco y un poco de marrón para darle el efecto de pelaje.

I used the same brush with white and a little brown to give it the fur effect

4)Luego con el pincel #006 y la pintura marrón me hice un poco mas gruesa la barba.

Then with the brush #006 and the brown paint I made my beard a little thicker.

5)Usé un poco de delineador para compactar lo que era el efecto en los ojos. Fabriqué unos cuernos con corteza de arbol, papel periodico, pega y unos cordones para sujetar. Y en el pecho con el color negro y marrón para dar el efecto de pelaje.

I used some eyeliner to compact what the effect was on the eyes. I made some horns with tree bark, newspaper, glue and some cords to hold. And on the chest with black and brown color to give the effect of fur.
