Holaa! Hoy les traigo otro review de un producto que adquirí recientemente y será mi primera vez usando algo de este estilo, un primer para pestañas. En la actualidad encontramos Primer de miles de productos... yo me pregunto si realmente tienen alguna utilidad, si es necesaria hacer esa compra. Así que sin más, les contaré que me parece y si vale la pena :) Pero por favor, antes admiremos la belleza de este empaque de la marca Trendy Makeup. Hay que decirlo, esta empresa le dedica muchísima atención a cómo lucen sus productos, y esto es algo que me encanta. Como ven, la cajita es de un color azul marino, y el producto en sí mismo también. Aquí les dejo más foticos de cerca para que lo vean.
Today I bring you another review of a product that I recently purchased and it will be my first time using something of this style, a primer for eyelashes. Nowadays we find thousands of primers... I wonder if they really have any use, if it is necessary to make that purchase. So without further ado, I'll tell you what I think of it and if it's worth it :) But please, first let's admire the beauty of this Trendy Makeup packaging. It has to be said, this company pays a lot of attention to how their products look, and this is something I love. As you can see, the box is a navy blue color, and so is the product itself. De acuerdo con la página web de la marca, el Primer de Pestañas tiene un costo de 12.000 pesos colombianos, que serían aproximadamente 3 dólares. Y la función de este sería la de crear una capa protectora para evitar que las pestañas naturales se dañen con la aplicación del rimmel, además, para que luzcan más voluminosas, largas, y permanezcan rizadas. Dice además que sirve para que las pestañas no se peguen entre ellas ni se formen grumos (esto ya lo veremos😵). El modo de uso es el siguiente, se aplica una primera capa del producto, se esperan 2 minutos y luego se puede proceder a colocar el rimmel. Suena muy fácil, comencemos :)
According to the brand's website, the Eyelash Primer costs 12,000 Colombian pesos, which would be approximately 3 dollars. And the function of this would be to create a protective layer to prevent the natural lashes from being damaged with the application of mascara, in addition, to make them look more voluminous, long, and remain curly. It also says that it serves to prevent the lashes from sticking together or forming clumps (we'll see about that😵). The mode of use is as follows, you apply a first coat of the product, wait 2 minutes and then you can proceed to apply the mascara. Sounds very easy, let's get started :)
Decidí aplicar el primer únicamente en las pestañas de mi ojo izquierdo, para poder hacer la comparación con el ojo derecho al cual solo le pondría rimmel. Lo primero que hice fue "enchinarme" mis pestañas del ojo izquierdo, y luego coloqué una capa suficiente de primer, tanto en las pestañas superiores como inferiores. El Primer es de color blanco, de textura algo pesada y al sacar el cepilllo del producto hay que limpiarlo un poco para no usarlo en exceso.
Cuando lo apliqué de una vez noté la diferencia en cuando a alargamiento y volumen, y eso que solo tenía el primer paso :) Miren!
I decided to apply the primer only on the lashes of my left eye, so that I could make the comparison with the right eye which I would only apply mascara to. The first thing I did was to "glam up" my left eye lashes, and then I put a sufficient coat of primer on both the upper and lower lashes. The primer is white in color, a bit heavy in texture and when you take the brush out of the product you have to clean it a bit so you don't overuse it.
When I applied it all at once I noticed the difference in lengthening and volume, even though I only had the first step :) Check it out!
Mis pestañas naturalmente son largas, pero poco pobladas y muy rectas, es difícil que permanezcan rizadas. Cuando me aplico un rimmel común y corriente no se nota gran diferencia. Miren, en la siguiente foto había aplicado una capa en el ojo derecho (sin primer) y parecía que no hubiese puesto nada. Mientras hacía esto, el primer se estaba secando en el otro ojo.
My eyelashes are naturally long, but sparse and very straight, it's hard for them to stay curly. When I apply a regular mascara it doesn't make much of a difference. Look, in the following photo I had applied one coat on the right eye (without primer) and it looked like I hadn't put anything on. While I was doing this, the primer was drying on the other eye.
A los dos minutos el primer seguía húmedo (quizás me eché mucho producto?), pero para seguir las instrucciones tal cual decidí aplicarme de una vez el rimmel de pestañas. El rimmel que estoy usando es de la marca Valmy, y a mi particularmente no me parece un rimmel de gran calidad. Ahora bien, como les muestro a continuación, al aplicar el rimmel sobre el primer noté que se veían varias partes blancas en las pestañas, así que tuve que dedicarme bien a maquillar cada una de ellas, y con todo y eso, algunas partes se seguían viendo blancas :( sobre todo al cerrar los ojos.
After two minutes the primer was still wet (maybe I applied too much product?), but in order to follow the instructions I decided to apply the mascara all at once. The mascara I'm using is from Valmy, and I don't think it's a high quality mascara. Now, as I show you below, when I applied the mascara over the primer I noticed that there were several white parts on the eyelashes, so I had to dedicate myself to make up each one of them, and even with all that, some parts were still white :( especially when I closed my eyes.
Estuve aplicando otras capas de rimmel en ambos ojos, pero particularmente en el ojo izquierdo para cubrir las partes blancas del primer. Parcialmente lo logré, pero al cerrar los ojos se seguían viendo algunas grumitos blancos, y esto no me gustó en lo absoluto... incluso al pasar varias minutos, el color blanco se seguía viendo igual, y solo desapareció después de varias horas.
I applied another coat of mascara on both eyes, but particularly on the left eye to cover the white parts of the primer. I partially succeeded, but when I closed my eyes I could still see some white lumps, and I didn't like this at all... even after several minutes, the white color was still the same, and it only disappeared after several hours.
Es cierto que el primer cumple su función de alargamiento y volumen. Viendo hacia arriba, hacia abajo o hacia el frente, se puede notar perfectamente la diferencia en el ojo que tiene primer y en el que no. En ese sentido me parece que le puede funcionar perfecto a las personas que tengan las pestañas como las mías, y necesiten que resalten más en sus maquillajes. Ahora bien, mis pestañas quedaron muy unidas (no es cierto que no se pegan entre ellas), pero lo que haré en una próxima vez es cepillarlas y separarlas con un cepillito especial que todavía no tengo. Como pueden ven, sin usar ese cepillo se unen. También la próxima vez quizás deba usar menos primer, así que les estaré contando en próximos maquillajes.
It is true that the primer does its job of lengthening and volumizing. Looking up, down or to the front, you can perfectly notice the difference in the eye that has primer and the one that does not. In that sense, I think it can work perfectly for people who have lashes like mine and need them to stand out more in their makeup. Now, my lashes were very close together (it is not true that they do not stick together), but what I will do next time is to brush them and separate them with a special brush that I do not have yet. As you can see, without using that brush they stick together. Also next time I might have to use less primer, so I'll be telling you in future makeups.
Le doy 4/5 estrellitas al producto porque sí funciona y nos puede ayudar muchísimo a las personas con pestañas poco pobladas y lisas. Como ven, el ojo se ve más abierto y la mirada más bonita. Por ese precio y la cantidad de producto que trae me parece que está genial :) No tiene 5 estrellas porque por algún motivo se seguían viendo zonas blancas en mis pestañas por el primer, y porque las pestañas se unieron mucho entre sí, como un pegamento.
I give the product 4/5 stars because it does work and it can help us a lot for people with sparse and flat eyelashes. As you can see, the eye looks more open and the look more beautiful. For that price and the amount of product it comes with, I think it's great :) It doesn't have 5 stars because for some reason you could still see white areas on my lashes from the primer, and because the lashes stuck together a lot, like glue.
La prueba de fuego fue ver cómo lucían mis pestañas luego de salir, 3 horas después de que apliqué el primer y.... Se mantuvieron intactas, a pesar de que el rimmel no era a prueba de agua. Así que sin duda, es un producto que usaré en mis maquillaje, eso sí, probablemente en menor cantidad que esta vez.
The ultimate test was to see what my lashes looked like after I left, 3 hours after I applied the primer and..... They stayed intact, even though the mascara was not waterproof. So without a doubt, it is a product that I will use in my makeup, but probably in less quantity than this time.
