🍽 一天的开始，是两个咸粽子
早晨一到，每人领取两个热腾腾的粽子，是咸味的。咸蛋黄、五花肉的香气透过竹叶缝隙钻出来，一口下去，是故乡的记忆，也是节日的仪式感。吃粽子，是我们这一整天“团圆与祝福”的起点。
🏀 烧烤前的互动：球场与友情
为了加强员工之间的交流，我们特地组织了一场轻松的篮球友谊赛。比赛结束后，我们邀请了两位本地员工参与晚餐：一位是负责员工关系兼法务的青年男同事，另一位是行政专员。
他们与我们并肩打球，随后坐在同一张饭桌前，亲身体验中国传统节日的热闹与人情味。这个跨文化的举动，让“节日”二字变得更有温度，也更有连接感。
🍢 红炭上的整排烤鱼
午后开始忙碌，整齐码放的烤鱼在炭火上滋滋作响，红彤彤的火光映照着大家的脸。那一刻，空气中除了香，还有笑声。火光，是家的味道。
🍖 羊腿入味，慢火前的耐心
新鲜的羊腿被小心地处理、腌制，撒上孜然、辣椒、盐，静待入味。这是一种缓慢的准备，也是味道的积蓄。
🔥 整羊翻烤，炭火的仪式
整只羊被架上烤架，缓缓翻滚着，香气渐渐溢出，引来围观的人群。大家一边加柴一边加话，笑声、方言、期待混在一起——是一次真正的团队庆祝。
🧂 属地员工协助加料
调味、翻烤、装盘……我们邀请属地员工一同动手。他们的参与不仅让味道更丰富，也让节日有了更多“在地”与“在心”的连接。
🍒 红李子压轴，清爽收尾
一大盘红彤彤的李子，是饭后的点睛之笔。甜味和颜色一样明亮，是对这顿饭的完美告别。

三十多号人，围坐在后院的长桌旁，没有粽叶飘香的龙舟，却有炭火边的一桌烟火气与温情。
节日的本质，也许并不是复制一模一样的传统，而是“不忘团聚与心意”。
从早上的咸粽子、下午的篮球友谊赛，到晚上的烧烤与聚餐，这一整天像一部慢慢展开的电影，记录着我们在异国他乡的点滴连接。

D32: Flames, Flavors & Dragon Boat Day Abroad
🧭 Even here in Mozambique, far from home, the feeling of traditional festivals stays close to the heart. This year’s Dragon Boat Festival was anything but ordinary — a day full of warmth, teamwork, and sizzling flavors.
🧧 Morning Ritual: Two Savory Zongzi
We started our day with a breakfast of two savory zongzi per person. Sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, filled with salted egg yolk and pork belly — each bite filled with memories of home and the comfort of tradition. That small meal was the opening ceremony of a very big day.
🏀 Basketball & Bonds Before the Feast
Before the feast, we played a friendly basketball match — just to get everyone moving and laughing. Two local colleagues joined us: one handles employee relations and legal affairs, and the other works in administration. After sweating it out on the court, we sat down at the same table and enjoyed the holiday dinner together.
These moments — where cultures intersect through food, sport, and conversation — are how we truly grow as a team.
🍢 Rows of Tilapia Over Glowing Charcoal
As the afternoon set in, the grill came alive. Neatly lined-up whole tilapia fish roasted over glowing red coals. The warmth wasn’t just from the fire — it came from the people gathered around it, telling stories, laughing, sharing the heat and the hunger.
🍖 Lamb Legs Marinating in Silence
Lamb legs were carefully cleaned and marinated with cumin, chili, garlic, and salt. It was a quiet, deliberate process — a kind of culinary patience that promised reward later.
🔥 A Whole Lamb Turning, Slowly & Surely
The centerpiece: a whole lamb, turning slowly over the fire. Smoke curled into the evening air as hungry eyes followed its golden-brown surface. No speeches. Just spices, smiles, and steady flame.
🤝 Local Hands, Local Flavors
Two local employees helped with seasoning and basting — not just participating, but contributing to the spirit of the day. Their hands were part of the flavor, part of the memory.
🍒 Bright Red Plums to End the Meal
A platter of fresh, ruby-red plums was the final touch. Sweet, juicy, cooling — a perfect ending to a rich and flavorful gathering.
✨ A Final Thought
More than 30 people gathered, not for formality but for fellowship.
There were no dragon boats or river races here — but there was fire, laughter, and shared plates.
Traditions don't have to be copied exactly; they just have to carry the heart of the occasion.
From the morning zongzi to the basketball game, to the lamb turning on the fire, and the last bite of plum — it all added up to something more than a meal. It became a memory of belonging.
📍 Those two zongzi, in the morning, felt like the quiet beginning of something beautifully unforgettable.
