I found the word "World Championship" on an article.
I think "World Championship" means the competition which all continents(not only Europe, also Asia, North and Pan America, etc.) participate in.
But on that article, it means only Europe!
Because "World Championship (Women's Handball)" is held in 2017 in Germany.
I don't know why they say like this...
今日、ハンドボールについて書かれている英語の論文を読んでいて、"World Championship"という表現を見つけました。
普通、世界選手権というのはすべての大陸を通しての大会だと思うのですが、この論文では"ヨーロッパ選手権"のことを"World Championship"と呼んでいました。
書いたのはスペイン人ですが、なぜこのように表現したのか、わかりません。笑
まあ確かに、国内大会ではない時点で世界大会ではあるかもしれませんが。
初めてこういう表現に出会ったので、不思議でした。
