“Another World”
I created this cut paper art before and digitally colored it. The title is “Another World” but my vision is not so scary. I just wanted to express that we have many layers to our world and everything could give us a precious moment. We all should celebrate our beautiful lives. This is a moment of celebration when we are returning to another world after this world.
When I designed this artwork, I wanted to draw many symbols of Japan such as fireworks, kimono, Maiko, a Japanese umbrella, stone lanterns, gold fish, a volcano, cranes, and moons. In Japan, originally almost everything is connected to a simple nature concept. We often forget that in modern society but there are many hints of ancient culture in Japan when try to seek them. That is the original beauty of Asia, I believe.
“あの世”
以前作成した切り絵にデジタルで色を入れました。タイトルは「あの世」ですが、怖い意味ではありません。この世界は色々なものが層のように重なっていて、すべての瞬間が素晴らしいものなのだと思います。日ごろからすべての人生を祝福したいものですね。あの世に戻って行く瞬間もめでたいものだと思いたいです。
この切り絵のデザインにはたくさんの日本のシンボルをつめ込みました。花火、着物、舞妓さん、和傘、灯篭、金魚、火山、鶴に三日月がふたつ。古来から日本では、ほとんどの事や物が自然の概念に密接していたと思います。近代社会の中にいるとそういう事を忘れてしまいがちですが、日本にはまたまだそういう昔を垣間見るヒントがたくさんある気がします。それこそが本来のアジアの美しさだと信じています。
