WHAT DEMOCRACY DAY MEANT TO ME AND THE FUTURE IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

Nigeria itself is a very great country filled with massive potentials from it's youths, natural resources and a very friendly climatic environment.

Nigeria has been a country that has been lead by the same circle of individuals since it's inception, and the funny thing is that this power hungry folks don't want to give-up the seats for young vibrant, potential and productive individuals.

Godfatherism is the center of the Nigerian politics. It is so sad that in the Nigerian politics if you don't know those already in the top or have a very deep pocket, your chances of success in any political seat is close to zero, even though you may have an ocean of skills, talents or experience of productivity.

In Nigeria today alot of individuals are agitating for a change and a better Nigeria. The IPOB cum Biafra agitators seeking for a division. But to what extent are we ready for this change we are craving for? How do we know that dividing the country is the solution?

Dividing Nigeria won't give the solution to the problems we are facing currently in this country. It won't give us jobs, it won't make the economy better, without a good developmental and strategic mindset, it won't solve the insecurity issues that is trailing different parts of the state daily, it won't put food on the tables of the numerous poor we have in this country.

What we really need in Nigeria are better leaders, who are concern about it's citizens, leaders who see the lives of it's citizens as a priority, who don't because of power devise means to rid off their oppositions or people they see as threats to their authorities and then coverup the atrocities they commit against the people they were meant to lead, leaders who don't heap their pockets with the funds they were meant to use to make Nigeria a better place.

Until we have people with the right mindset and mentality for Nigeria, both it's leaders and citizens, the better Nigeria we all crave for will continually be a mirage.

Endsars was the youths advocating for the freedom of their human rights. To end the brutality of Policemen and the security agencies that were meant to protect it's citizens, but rather turning to be terror of it's citizens. Though on the 20th October alot of young Nigerians had lost their lives, this movement is only just the beginning to show the power in unity and a strong voice of people that had enough of suffering in silence.

If we don't use the Endsars protest as a markup to build on something for the future am afraid, our future and the future of our children is not going to be rosy.

We need to unify and learn to call our leaders to justice and tell them to do the right things, to treat its citizens right.

Our democracy day symbolized a day we as a nation became a government for the people and not for some few elites and opportuned individuals.

We should say enough is enough and call our leaders to book, to be answerable to their duties.
W e shouldn't keep quiet any longer, we should speak out in a unified voice and tell our leaders enough is enough for the sake of our future and for our future generations.
MY THOUGHTS AS A CONCERN NIGERIAN WHO WANTS A BETTER FUTURE.

As a concerned Nigerian, I have to agree with you. With these points you mentioned in place, there's no reason why we can't have the country of our dreams. It takes everyone who wants to see a better life working together to achieve this. Our only hope is that we live to see the day this happens.
