Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's weekly open mic event attracts enthusiastic musicians and listeners. Our virtual song circle reaches globally, while upholding the classic pattern of a traditional open mic event. At the end of each week, we celebrate the music with a Community Concert.
Everyone is welcome here in our haven for expression and connection. We welcome music fans and casual listeners, while holding space for musicians of every style and any skill level. Here, music lovers build real relationships worldwide. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are building a more harmonious world by sharing our enjoyment of music.
For the 115th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Doing The Work." This theme is chosen by our recent Spotlight Artist: @lk666. Everyone is encouraged to share the collective current as we express and connect through: Doing The Work.
“Doing The Work”
This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Doing The Work.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.
How To Play
1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week 115,” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift we can give to an artist is our attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that everyone offer some friendly words. Reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Our comments might be the vital voice that gives a musician the wings to fly, or the gills to dive deep!

This week 115 the recent featured artist @lk666 encourages us to express ourselves and connect through the theme "Doing The Work", so I decided to participate with this song "Chucho and Ceferina· that presents us with the work of two vendors street vendors: Chucho, who is in charge of distributing vegetables, and Ceferina, who sells her Creole Venezuelan sweets (formerly called "granjerías"), bringing us an atmosphere of the beginning of the last century, when Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, more than a city seemed like a very big town.

I will participate with the song "El yerberito" in which a traveling salesman of medicinal plants walks through the town announcing his merchandise with shouts of joy. Hello friends, this week the theme is "Doing the work". My song is about a woman named María who cooks sweets to sell and when cooking them she must "give them a palette", that is, stir with a wooden spoon for long hours until the sweet has the right consistency or "point". This is a song of the "fulía" genre, one of the typical Venezuelan rhythms. They accompany my touch of maracas: @orlandobello with his drum, @carmenrivas in the main voice and choirs, @sayury with the guitar, choirs and the publication of this post, @hermaryrc in the choir.
