It is based on a legend that tells the story of a gypsy woman who fell in love with a man belonging to another ethnic group, they could not marry because of the laws of their people so the gypsy woman in her sadness cries asking the moon for a miracle. The moon seeing her suffering decides to grant her wish in exchange for giving her her first child, they marry and when the child is born the man sees features different from his race so he feels cheated and decides to end the life of his wife by plunging a knife in his chest and voting the child in the bush. A story of the night that marked an era with its melody.
Muchas canciones se adaptan a la temática de esta semana que es historias de la noche, pero hay una en especial que a pesar de tener 35 años de su lanzamiento me sigue gustando, se titula hijos de la luna del grupo mecano, ha sido traducida a muchos idiomas y la historia de esta canción es la siguiente.
Se basa en una leyenda que trata de la historia de una mujer gitana que se enamoró de un hombre perteneciente a otra etnia, no podían casarse debido a las leyes de su pueblo así que la gitana entre su tristeza llora pidiendo a la luna un milagro. La luna viendo su sufrimiento decide concederle su deseo a cambio de que le entregue su primer hijo, se casan y al nacer el niño el hombre observa rasgos distintos a su raza por lo que se siente engañado y decide acabar con la vida de su mujer clavando un cuchillo en su pecho y votando al niño en el monte. Una historia de la noche que marco una época con su melodía.
