Hi everyone! A new Open Mic week has begun, this time it will fill us with love and humor, themes chosen by my brother-in-law @osomeltrozo. For this special occasion I want to perform a song that I think is super funny and is called El Caraqueño.
This popular titled Venezuelan meringue dates from the 19th century. Its author is unknown, but Maestro Federico Ruiz rescued it in the 80s. The first verse belongs to the original composition. The popular Cantaclaro Quintet where my husband belongs @armandolnrs, recorded the song on their fourth album with two other verses added by the Maestro.
I want to emphasize the phrase "Mamadera de Gallo", for friends who are not Venezuelan. It is an expression that indicates mockery or joke, which is made to a person repeatedly and insistently. This song plays with the politics and economic mismanagement of the country, referring to the fact that the government sucks the cock to Venezuelans. The funny thing is that the song is from the 19th century, new stanzas were added to it in the 20th century and it is still as valid with the Venezuelan government of this new 21st century.
We recorded the video with a Yezz 1 Max Plus and edited it with Windows Movie Maker. The photographs were edited with Power Point. I hope you liked this funny song. Hola a todos! Una nueva semana de Open Mic ha comenzado, esta vez nos llenará de amor y humor, temas escogidos por mi cuñado @osomeltrozo. Para esta ocasión especial quiero interpretar una canción que me parece súper divertida y se titula El Caraqueño.
Este popular merengue venezolano titulado data del siglo XIX. Su autor es desconocido, pero el Maestro Federico Ruiz lo rescató en los años 80. El primer verso pertenece a la composición original. El popular Quinteto Cantaclaro donde pertenece mi esposo @armandolnrs, grabó el tema en su cuarto disco con otros dos versos que le agregó el Maestro.
Quiero hacer énfasis en la frase "Mamadera de Gallo", para los amigos que no son venezolanos. Es una expresión que indica burla o broma, que se hace a una persona de manera repetida e insistente. Esta canción juega con la política y mala administración económica del país, haciendo referencia a que el gobierno le mama gallo a los venezolanos. Lo curioso es que la canción es del siglo XIX, le agregaron estrofas nuevas en el siglo XX y sigue igual de vigente con el gobierno venezolano de este nuevo siglo XXI.
Grabamos el video con un Yezz 1 Max Plus y lo editamos con Windows Movie Maker. Las fotografías se editaron con Power Point. Espero les haya gustado esta divertida canción.
