CHRONICLES - PROMPT #20: Remembering the jumper and knitted tights fashion

Hello friends of the @silverblogger community, I hope you have an excellent and blessed weekend. This is my first post in this community. I appreciate the invitation from my friend @annafenix to join the initiative The Silverbloggers Chronicles #20 - Fads|Trends that Faded or made a Comeback. I liked the theme of this initiative, as it invites us to remember those fashions that were trending, and young people of that time enjoyed wearing certain hairstyles or clothes that were fashionable at the time. If you didn't wear what was fashionable, you weren't in style. During my school days, one of the outfits that became fashionable was the famous jumper. Many girls went to class wearing this garment; it was a kind of dress but with straps in the front. Personally, I liked this type of clothing because it was comfortable and also fashionable. Although it was several years ago, jumpers have returned, but in a more fashionable version, jumpsuits, which are very similar to jumpers but in a modern version and in keeping with the times, jumpers in their time were very used by children, young people and adults, one of my nephews when he was little wore several jumpers, (overalls), he had a very nice royal blue corduroy one and it was the one he used the most, he looked handsome and elegant in his outfit, at home we were happy dressing him up and taking many pictures of him with his fashionable style.

Another accessory that was fashionable was the famous knitted tights. I remember wearing a lot of them, and to give them a more fashionable touch, they were combined with white pantyhose, which usually had figures of cartoon characters like the Little Mermaid, Mickey Mouse, among others. Over the pantyhose, you wore the knitted tights, which usually had little bows, pearls, and other embellishments to look very pretty and fashionable. This fashion was one of my favorites; my sisters and I used to wear this style of clothing, especially at Christmas or when we attended a birthday party, graduation party, among others.

A very famous hairstyle that I wore on many occasions was the famous pompadour. In Venezuela, it was very common to wear this pompadour; you would gather your hair with a clip, leaving a pompadour at the front. The clip was special for holding the pompadour in place. The higher and more voluminous the pompadour, the more fashionable you were. Following this pompadour, or almost in parallel, a trend also emerged for wearing curly hair. At home, we used flaxseed to achieve this curly look and make it last a long time. The hairspray of that time was flaxseed; you would put a cup of flaxseed in a liter of water. It released a substance that made the water slimy; the thicker the water, the better the effect on the hair.

You could add flaxseed in the morning, go out, and in the afternoon your curls would remain intact. This natural product was widely used to keep curls in place and hair black and shiny; Fashions come and go, like overalls, which have come out in improved versions and have stood the test of time. You can still find jumpsuits for children and women, and jumpsuits with an elegant yet casual style. Another trend that became very popular was flared, high-waisted pants. I saw several photos of family and friends wearing high-waisted pants, and they looked strange, as if they were wearing girdles. The low-rise pants trend emerged, and flared pants fell out of favor. However, high-waisted pants have recently made a comeback. One of the reasons, according to the seamstress who explained it to me, is aesthetic, as they have the advantage of tucking in the tummy and shaping the waist, or at least supporting a few extra pounds. This has been my entry on fashions that come and go, a beautiful initiative to take a trip down memory lane and remember different styles and fashions. I invite @brujita18 and @hylene74.
