Without a doubt, the Pandemic left us many things to learn, it was something that came to us suddenly and in the same way we had to learn to deal with this silent virus that took away many people.

At first I saw the news on television about the people who had died from this virus and that it was increasing every day, alarming numbers, a never-before-thought-out number of deaths. I couldn't believe it, I said: but what is killing people? How can so many people die at once if it's not a war? Mass graves were made to bury so many people. The saddest thing about the case is that when these people entered the hospital they could no longer be visited by their families. Without being able to say goodbye to your family member.

I learned of several acquaintances who lost their lives in this pandemic, but the closest case was my ex-husband's first cousin. A young man who was leaving the United States to visit his family, but was never able to travel. When he became infected, another cousin told us the news. He told us he was hospitalized, but he said he felt good that he was strong. Many of us trust in iron health since we rarely get sick, but the virus touched him and no matter how much he fought, he did not survive.

What I miss most about the pre-pandemic is the security we had of being strong, healthy people. With that security you could overcome any virus because they have always existed, but this one was a silent monster.

I miss that confidence I had in medicine, in the doctors, in myself, in my physical and mental health.
