I Look At Life From Both Sides Now
Today somewhat a normal Wednesday, I did shopping which entails a walk around, not quite how I envisioned celebrating my 80 Moons on Hive, late afternoon now time to write!
Yesterday being Woman's Day in South Africa I tottered around the local nursery finding some herb and vegetable seeds with summer around the corner, another seasonal planting out start up kit.
Pondering how much life has changed when stumbling across how people react to something we should take in our stride every day, posing the question 'what is a woman' with ladies of Hive, after all it is woman's day, not so?
Now many might wonder why, it's a biological, not ideological, definition, we are born that way, a small percentage might not be comfortable, there are modern drugs, new technology to change ones gender and appearance, each to their own in bringing oneself happiness.
Bemused at how many are being influenced by this small minority I reminded myself of how we fought/still fighting for equal rights, abortion, contraception, gender based violence, to name but a few, this topic sounds to me it's being turned into a 'free for all', veering off the path, or am I wrong!
Checking out health of pond at the nursery it was great to see Mom and Pop Duck or is that Goose with Little ones, I know the owners and staff at the nursery have spent a fair penny clearing this water that was filled with sewerage spill caused by floods.
Now for the 'Oh How Cute'!
Bridge The Gap
After visiting nursery, follow up inspection of the river to find out what is happening down the road, dogs are bursting to get to the beach once again, as am I.
Looking upriver in the region of hills where I live the road bridges are safe and secure, both old road and freeway. During 1980's flood we lost the coastal road bridge which was rebuilt in no time at all....
Park across the way looked safe enough to enter, this park is not always nick named 'murder park' for good reason!
View of the bridge from the park, fisherman walking along I later asked condition of water and reply was 'not good', locals that fish these waters will be the first to let you know.
Evidence blatantly clear once I reached the waters edge, dead fish with human pollution still floating around!
After walking the park alongside the river one last glimpse (more trash in reeds), rail bridge needs fixing, how long will this take? Electric cables have been stolen along this line that feeds between Durban and the Lower South Coast Industries one would think it was a priority, apparently not so!
Taking this opportunity to thank all my friendly Hive acquaintances for 80 Moons together on Hive, always supportive in many communities via engagement, expression, honesty and freedom of the blockchain! Happiness is what we make it.

After April floods still a lot of damage to be fixed, sewerage is one of the main problems here, it stinks!
Art in the gardens of nursery a fun way to spend some time out of the home with large trees and many other attractions to entice one to revisit.

The abortions, rape cases is just something I can't comprehend why one will indulge in such. Life is precious and should be preserved. And so is that rail bridge needing attention to be fixed.
Not a good habit polluting our environment, the country is beautiful lets keep it beautiful.

Woman still take the brunt end, when I see old woman carrying water in buckets on their head I want to scream at the powers that be. No woman or child is safe outdoors after dark, hell many are not safe in their own homes!
I miss the sound of trains passing over the bridge which carries up the valley, how industry is moving product must be costing them a fortune, not to mention the already damaged road. Here in Toti the freeway still jammed up in Northerly direction daily.

This is true until they are grown up and no longer cute 😃
You know I was in JHB CBD 2 weeks ago and I felt out of place I was scared, I just had to be in and out of town. Our world just doesn't safe any more.
Towns are not longer safe like they used to be, let alone going into city.
Do the passenger trains still run, or are you using taxi power up there now?
Stay safe, yes this world is no longer what we thought it would be.
I am not sure of the train but I think its still works, I stopped using that years ago, the pick-pocket and fully packed of the train commuting is just too much for me to blend with.
I can imagine how dodgy it has become to train travel, growing up it was the only way to commute. Taxi wars, overloaded vans now hold transport of people in similar conditions, dangerous and expensive.

Just had a yellow-billed kite cruise over, first one this year so they are back! No did not capture a photograph 🙃 just watched awesome arrival.

Hope you got that hike in, we have a sudden 'cold' spell and rain here again for the weekend.
Kites will be here for around 6 months now sure to see them again.

Yep, I got that hike, but a bit different than planned because it was freezing cold and windy on the first peak, so I left because I have been much too early for sunrise anyway.
It was completely cloudy and when I arrived on the second peak, which is only a half hour hike from the road, it even began to rain slightly.
So, images like this one was all I have got this morning, but I've been out and have done something and that's even more important :)
It is also rainy here and it has got quite cold in the past days, but it's nice after all the heat we have had.

I love this, especially ending with a song my father used to sing all the time when I was a kid. I used to roll my eyes when he sang it. Now I realize it was a great song.

I love the photos you took in the nursery...one of our favorite places to stop over...
Just sad about the pollution happening again. I heard over the radio yesterday that they reckon they should be able to clear it up quickly...but where have I heard that before...? Why is it happening in the first place?

All along beachfront side of the highway from Isipingo to Umgababa forever waiting for spares, or don't know how to repair....
We waiting to get onto the beach since floods, river and sea are polluted although no one is being honest to admit the E.Coli is still in both.
Nursery imported specialist cleaning system to get their little pond cleared and running once again, went down on Tuesday sad to say not as busy as normal for a public holiday.
That's the only constant...they keep making the noise they know people want to hear, but nothing gets done.
That's good news about the pond👍!
We were there 2 or 3 weekends ago, and we also found it a bit on the quiet side.
Small business has taken a hard knock, I fear worse is yet to come.

Best weather is winter, wait..., you will come to thoroughly love the cooler days after sweating out a couple of years down here.
I appreciate the winter, believe me...lol! We'll be down here for twenty years by next year July. But we would still rather have the heat down here than the cold in Johannesburg...lol.
