The years simply seem to melt away!
I joined this blockchain exactly seven years ago, and what a ride it's been!
As all my friends know, I wear my heart on my sleeve, and this space has been my go-to place when I've needed an escape, or felt the need to offload much of what weighs me down.
As with Bull and Bear markets, we've all, at times, travelled through deep dark valleys, climbed some steep hills, and at other times tHrIVEd on open roads with sunny skies above.
We've certainly seen how time and tide affect this world.
I started my blogging journey, all starry-eyed, and have been writing on many topics. Food blogging became my favoured genre for a long while. I love cooking, baking, and eating the spoils, as did hubby!
My darling Arthur was always super supportive, and often helped by taking photos while I was doing the food preparation.
Nowadays, my poor cellphone gets abused by a dusting of flour and other food ingredients, but it is very robust and forgiving!
I went down the coast this past week to our favourite resort, with my older brother and our special friends, and we quietly celebrated Arthur's birthday just two days ago.
July used to be a month of celebrations, but besides my Hiversary, now feels like a very cold month. In just four days from now, it will be a year since my man left this world to move on to his 'forever' home.
Back to where I began!
The first image of an ox wagon was taken in 1932 at the South Coast resort of Munster, just next door to where we were staying,
The second image is of a 1950-era Vauxhall, which must have been a real grand dame back then, but how cumbersome, and hardly any boot (trunk) space!
Nowadays we travel in comfort with all the latest electronics onboard and loads of space for our luggage, which seems to have gotten bigger as well!
As the tides of the ocean keep on changing, we in turn need to adapt to tHrIVE!

Dear congratulations, thank you for continuing to sail on this tide, leaving part of your history and your wisdom. 😘
Arthur, wherever you are, you must be happy to see how beautifully you remember him.
Thank you dear @soyunasantacruz, I appreciate your kind wishes.
I do believe my Arthur is with me in spirit, I feel acceptance and at peace, although the missing is always there💕
Happy Hiversary, Lizzie! Mine was days ago and I haven't even mentioned it. I should do something about it, hehe.
And yes, life is a constant succession of changes and how we adapt to them. Blogging has become an integral part of our lives. And hopefully, even with some changes along the way, it will continue to be part of our journey for many more years to come.
Hi Eli, yes, life is flying by, so it's no wonder you've not gotten around to mention it!
Thank you for the good wishes.
I had time to remember, as my weekends are mostly quiet with guests settled in. I prefer going out during the week when my staff are on duty, and most of my friends are retired😉
I do hope I can continue my Hive journey till the day I finally close my eyes💖
Happy Hive-aversary
We've come a long way in life, haven't we?
I do ponder when I see such things how cushie we have it now, but having been born into it, I know no other way. It still has it's ebbs and flows, it's joys, sadness, challenges and accomplishments.
I purposely try to be grateful for it all.
Here's to 7 more !
Thank you for the very kind wishes @jacey.boldart, and for the insight, we certainly have come a long way!
You are so right, there is much to be grateful for💕
Hope I get to 7 more, life changes in a split second!
So many things happened during 7 years, ups and downs, losses and consolation from people who care... I see you are passionate about blogging and that is exactly how an elegant lady with a parasol should feel in a place like Hive 😉
Haha, the lady with the parasol that turned out to be a fishing trap😅 You are the sweetest @mipiano, thank you so very much for the warm wishes. Hugs from one buzzy bee to another 🐝
Happy Hiversary. I think adpating is where I am having a challenge right now, but I will get there. You are an inspiration dear @lizelle.
Thank you @coinjoe, not always easy but you'll get there for sure.
Happy Hiversary! Congrats on a long productive journey 🎉
Yes with change comes with our ability to adapt. Sometimes the sooner will embrace the easier it is adapt. Not an easy thing to do always but if we ignore all change we can be left behind. Accept and get an early start to thriving!
Thank you @coolmidwestguy, some changes are easy to accept and adapt to while others are not.
Happy Hiverversary, my dear friend. I'm so happy to have met you here and wish you many more blogging adventures <3 And happy birthday, Arthur <3 I'm glad you celebrated his birthday. Always celebrate life, always.
Thank you sweet @honeydue, I'm so thankful to have met you, my young friend! I felt at peace, listening to the sound of the ocean, at the place we both loved and visited for years. It was good <3
Happy Hiversary Lizzie. It's been a long journey for many of us, with lots of ups and downs. It's been a pleasure being part of your journey and hope the rest of your Hive journey will have more ups than downs
Thank you, dear friend, I hope for a good couple of years of more 'ups'.
Life certainly changed in a big way for many of us, but there still is so much to look forward to and experience.
PS I'm planning a girls-only weekend at the end of the month, so July will end on a much better note than it started.
Welcome to the 7 year club Lady Lizzie, and it was indeed a long road. Many memories, struggles and good times on Hive. Birthdays of our loved ones always hurt, but they want us to continue with life, as it's the only way to go. You forgot to mention that you are also the mother (founder) of @silverbloggers, as that was some icing on the Hive cake, and Arthur is proud of you.
Congratulations and all our !LUV to you.
Awe thank you, dear Zac, you and Marian have always been there in spirit and made contact when I needed encouragement. I'll never forget that 'call from heaven' when Mom passed.
I meant to say something about Silver Bloggers and everyone who supported me through the downs but kept it short and sweet. My darling Arthur was my biggest fan, as I was of him; one in a million who will always be a part of me <3
You are a smart lady that has learned the ups and downs in this life, but one can never be prepared for the sudden and unexpected passing of a beloved soul mate. We know that it's hard at times, but we admire the way that you continue to fight on despite of everything. First mom, and now Arthur.
I merely mentioned Silver Bloggers in an effort to show you your value as a great person, and yes, Arthur will forever be in your heart Lady Lizzie.
!PIZZA and !LUV
Thank you dear Zac!
Nothing can ever prepare one for the loss of one's soulmate. I never ever thought it would be tbis hard!
I totally agree with you dear Lady Lizzy, it is very difficult, especially after the love of so many years.
Our prayers are with you.

Thank you, my friend!
😊🙏❤️😍
Happiest of anniversaries to one of my favorite people on Hive! We really should establish some kind of tradition for celebrating these anniversaries on the platform. Happy belated birthday to Arthur as well. I'm sure that was a tough day for you but it's nice to remember the good times. I think about my dad even more on his birthday.
Awe thank you Eric, the sentiment is mutual!
I really love this platform, it's been my saving grace through difficult times.
We both have been blessed with wonderful people and memories!
Some of my friends were so worried about me facing the first birthday but I felt absolutely at peace, and we all spoke of the fun times we always had. My Arthur was one in a million.
Special dates has a way of doing that.
Enjoy the rest of your summer weekend Eric.
PS my brother and his wife are visiting my nephew who lives near you, end Aug beginning Sept.
Thanks, Lizelle! I feel the same way about Hive. It's been an especially tough year on my end and Hive has been a savior. I'm so glad you felt that peace on his birthday. He was likely there with you in spirit. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend too! That's great! We're having especially nice weather this summer. Are they going to the Minnesota State Fair? If not, they should, it's one of the best in the country.
I will certainly tell them to check it out.
Knowing my nephew, he'll likely have some surprises up his sleeve.
I believe you're right, I'm sure Arthur was there in spirit. As crazy as it sounds, I often feel his presence, unseen, but still a part of me.
Our weather's in turmoil, goes from winter to sudden hot days in a flash.
Have a wonderful Sunday, Eric
Congratulations on 7 years with Hive! That really is an accomplishment. I am so sorry this is a hard month for you. I am sure you have so many wonderful memories, but it still is hard. Blessings to you!
