Eight o'clock in the morning. Fresh powder snow fell overnight, perfect morning. The sun glitters silvery behind the mountain peaks. Coffee and hot chocolate mixed in the thermos in the backpack. Skis on the hump and off up the hills.
A day like this is rare. And the best today, it's 1992. First of January, which means most people are only or still in bed. New Year's Eve is celebrated until the wee hours of the morning. :smirk: My luck to work in the gastronomy!
Yesterday evening 31.12.1991 began for me already at 15 o'clock. Shift start at the Hotel Sportness. Mise-en-place to enjoy the last hours of the day with Champagne. My job is to serve the guests, some call me "Chef de Rang", others "Bartender".... sometimes "DJ"!
The shift ended at two in the morning. A quick hour with colleagues at the club down the street, a spliff and off to bed. That was my New Year's Eve party. In good conscience, going skiing early.
At the bottom station Joseph was already waiting for us, the man who starts and controls the ski lifts, and two work colleagues. We will be the first ones on the ski slopes and the conditions are just Whooooohooooooo! Add to that the fact of a ten centimeter thick layer of powdery powder snow, that's like the cherry on top of a dessert. :grin:

Eight o'clock in the morning, aaah fuck it, nope.... too early! Back in the future, it is the 31.12.2021. Just awake because the bladder is pressing. Alright, out of bed, down to the toilet. On the way, switch on the coffee machine and the computer.
Another aaah, no more coffee in the house, Aunée-Calandula-Melissa-Green-Tea has to do! Hmm, the day starts perfectly. Luckily Marty comes by later, will send him a text to bring coffee.
Ten o'clock in the morning, the Discord chat is a desert... nobody online! Well then I'll just keep working on my playlists until life returns. Here or online! The doorbell rings. Marty and the coffee, finally coffee! :smirk:
Once awake, we spend the afternoon chopping wood to fill up for the winter. It is supposed to get colder and colder. Afterwards we have a beer. Quickly i do a last shopping at " Auntie Emma", today we eat homemade Spätzli with a Hungarian goulash. Best food for cold days. For dessert one or two glasses of single malt and then...
...music, music and more music. Instruments out. Guiflo & Dudek are in the house to bridge the time until midnight. Then a walk into the night to welcome the new year. Back to the house and off to bed.
Voila! New Year's Eve in a time when most people, guided by fear, let the way of "living together" be determined by ignorant, arrogant liars. From my side there is no more interest to go out. And to inject one or more doses of a genetically manipulated drug mix into my body to get the "permission" from ignorant and arrogant liars to go out according to their rules and with incomprehensible laws. No thanks, banks!

Dear @mondoshawan, you sound so disillusioned with this world, but I'm sure you'll find your own kind of peace with the off-grid life you're building and have a much better 2022!
I'll second helping that. I lost interest in marking any of these celebrations years ago. All I want is peace, quiet, food, water, shelter, minus all the claptrap fakery.
I never bought into their whole Orwell'ian propaganda, haven't and will not inject whatever they want into my body. (consciously of course)
I'd take the 1992 over the 2010s and 20s, any day.
Again, we're talking 'time' only for reference. No such illusion exists otherwise! 😁
