It's Hive Power Up Day and for those who are new to this here's a cool post that encompasses just about everything you need to know by @traciyork .
But this post is about my experience with #HPUD and it's all about me (even though it's never and not even remotely all about me, of course) so let's go!
For those who've only recently found me, you should know I'm a bit botty when it comes to admin (and Fortnite at times). This is more because I don't like it (admin and not Fortnite) that much and I scan directions more than I read them thoroughly.
It's not you. It's me. 👍 Apologies in advance and thanks for letting it slide, as the good people around Hive generally seem to do.
I'm also not all about the money (though few folks actually believe me when I say this) and, in fact, it was by really letting go of most (if not all) of the vestiges and shirty programming of capitalism that I found an enormous amount of freedom... and far more very precious time as well.
But that's another story...
It's Hive Power Up Day!
This post is about Hive Power Up Day and my experience of it.
I'm pretty new around here and I'm still finding my way around. But after just over a month, I'm finding that:
I'm finding "My People" and it's happening organically and randomly as I knew it would.
I'm ready to commit to the platform and aimed to power up substantially today to send some love to Hive for what they're doing around here.
I'm looking at investing in my future now (hence I reckon I can get away with posting this in Silver Bloggers - and also, it's kind of a personal share, right?) and I feel strongly that crypto is something well worth investing in.
If I can write, make art, make music, make some noise, connect with other creatives, earn and invest at the same time it's kinda a no-brainer for me to invest right here on Hive.
But... and why is there always a but?
I botted out of course. Because:
I transferred my HBD from my savings to convert to Hive to power up and didn't realise there is a 3 day transaction period. Duh.
I can't seem to get the verification process completed to buy into Hive with my cc. I've tried 3 times but my face is, apparently, not recognized.
This could be because:
I'm being a bot (again) and have not signed up somewhere and sent in my verification details for my face.
Or my face is so f*cked, after the insane few years I experienced trying to get help from my government, that I am no longer recognizable. It may well be this one because I've bumped into people I once knew who don't recognize me anymore.
But again... that's another story.
And one that I will possibly share around here because (it seems) there are more people than just liddle old me who have some questions for government(s) right about now...
and it's past due we started an honest conversation with "The Power(s) That Be (Messing it All Up).
But back to Hive Power Up Day
I didn't get it right for possibly one or a combination of the above this month, sadly. I will, however, be around for next month's HPUD and will be amply prepared.
Today I do want to give a shout out to some fellow Hivians who helped me get going around here.
When I first signed up, and checked my Dashboard, I saw a recommendation to delegate some Hive Power to any folks who joined with my referral link and I got all warm and fuzzy inside.
"What a cool and kind community suggestion to help Noobs get comfortable and keen to use and stay on the platform!" I thought.
This is so my kind of way of walking in the world.
While the people I've been encouraging to get involved haven't really gotten past their fear of the slightly different tech (yet), and so my offers of a bit of delegated HP to get them started have been put on hold, there were some folks around here who walked the Hive talk and did this for me.
So today I want to thank, in person, @julianhorack for explaining how this all works ever so patiently and delegating some HP to me to have a proper look-see. Viva la revolución, my brother. 💥
To @anitahorvatirl who randomly sent me some HP as a total surprise. You are my kind of human and I'll always stay connected now because of both your beautiful photos and your beautiful heart!
p.s. You can take it back now, angel, and gift it to a Noob as I have enough to keep building here and am going to invest further in fact. ❤️
And to @dswigle and @fionasfavourites for keeping the flag flying and walking the walk last month. You're my kind of humans and only respect and love here for you two... well... too!

I am still so grateful that you introduced me to this world via @julianhorack who gave/ gives so much unconditionally without me even have met him (although I totally resonate with him.) but via the link of yourself.

Funny story as a noober noobie than you is that I have gone through the same experiences as you mentioned and possibly a few more. About two weeks ago I ventured to the "banking" side and nervously decided to try some "shifting".....planning to move some HBD to hive power.
Yoh, I thought as I nervously hit the confirm button...."....looks like I can get the grasp of some of this". Five seconds later I got smacked with brick & mortar reality.
My HBD had decreased as requested but there was no change in my HP.....WTF?? I thought as I peed my jean pant, spat out my morning stoep coffee and put on my war face from 36 years ago as I was planning to jump into my pickup to somehow find my bank manager in the metaverse and give it a bullocksing for pulling a Muizenberg scam on me.
A couple of frustrating hours later I finally got with the project and realised it will take a few days to reflect in account just as your transaction.
I sucked my poepies back up the back of my jean pant and breathed a sigh of relief that I hadn't embarrassingly phoned friends to tell them that some blerry banker had stolen my money again and I was heading off to find him/her and the next time my friends heard from me I would probably be in prison for sending the person to hospital for a year after murdering them six times right then.
Also going off the topic but relating to part of what you said with regard to the non face recognizing CC bot....this be one of those very few times that I will throw a delectable donut at you in disagreement.....
The CC transaction didn't bot bounce because the bot didn't recognise your face. It bounced because the bot saw your real and inner & outer beauty face which sent into a flat spin of pleasure & made it forget what it was supposed to be doing....
Keep the fire burning within and keep climbing in your home world as you are doing :)

I have done it on Binance. If you use it, you can easily buy Hive there and transfer it to your wallet and vice versa. But make sure you always use the correct instructions and don't forget to use the memo to avoid losing the funds.
And you can always ask questions, no problem. I will try to answer if it is within my knowledge or guide you to the people who may have the answers ;) 😊

For months now, I have not been able to participate in the power up days. This is because life gets in the way sometimes. This time, I had a slight chance to join in, but when I reviewed my financial plans, I realised that I would still not be able to participate this time.
I don't know why I found myself laughing at some parts of your post. You cracked me up when you said you wanted to remove from your savings to power up yesterday, but then realised you had to wait 3 days to actually get something from your savings.
