As much as I love summer, there is something glorious about the changing landscape when the foliage begins to change. This year, the trees had a great deal of red compared to the last few years which was so beautiful.
I don't have to travel to see the gorgeous colors of all the different trees, as I am surrounded by a small wooded area. Many different shrubs and trees contribute to this colorful environment.
As the weather becomes cooler the leaves have begun falling and all the lawns in the neighborhood are full of leaves. We have all been quite busy raking and composting them this past week.
We have been trimming back perennials and pulling out the remaining annuals. The gardens are all amended with compost and manure in preparation for spring planting. Over the winter the mulched leaves will help to add nourishment to the soil.
I always welcome Fall when it arrives. It is the time of year when all my harvesting is done and prepping all the produce for the pantry is finally complete. It represents restfulness to me, yet at the same time, I find myself looking for something to do to fill up my day. I wonder how many other people feel the same way when the days turn colder and there isn't much to do outside in the gardens.
The Limelight Hydrangea blossoms have all dried naturally on the tree and I cut a few off and hung them on the porch. They made a nice arrangement to add to the fall decorations in the house.
As the leaves all turn different shades of yellow, orange, and red and fall one by one to the ground, I can't help but think of all the changes that occurred in my life this year. I had enjoyed so much time on the back porch relaxing with my dog and reflecting on the wonderful life I have had and continue to enjoy each and every day.
Some things I experienced were sad, some frustrating, and mostly joyous. The changing leaves offered me pause to remember how thankful I am for all the seasons and changes that have taken place in my life.
See, look at the leaf with a seed nearby, how could one not see the beauty in the cycle of life. I wish you all a wonderful week.
Until next time, this is Sunscape

Magical photos. Autumn is very special transition of the year. Nature is wise and glorious.
The colours of Fall are all so beautiful, that the end of a cycle could be this beautiful, it's really awesome!
All the leaves are off here, except a few oak trees. Still cleaning up leaves and gardens.
We still have a lot of leaves that haven't started yet. I know we will be raking soon enough. lol
Life is a combination of the good, the bad and the ugly but I'm glad you enjoyed more of the beautiful times.
The trees are a sight to behold.
Thanks Edith, I look to the postive side of life and roll with everything else. ;-)
All is so beautiful 😍🥰🥰🥰
Amazing pictures 😍
This reminds me on an insta reel that showed simple leaf art to make, I need to get out and get some leaves before they are ruined!
Oh fun! Get out there and get those leaves, lol.
